The old saying that it takes two to tango, has always had sexual overtones. Such was the case with David and Bathsheba. Often David is vilified and Bathsheba is excused for committing adultery. But if you read the genealogies of Matthew chapter one, you will see that she wasn't even given the honor of having her name mentioned. Rahab the harlot was, but not Bathsheba. She is referred to as "her who had been the wife of Uriah."
Had she walked in the fear of the Lord she perhaps would have said to David, "I will not do this thing and sin against God. I will not cause my king to commit this sin. I would rather die." Instead, her supposed consent led to the death of her beloved husband and the fall of the King.
Perhaps it was innocence that caused her to bathe in a place where David could see her. While I don't think women should wear a full covering, it's wise for them to be modest, and remember that there are a million thoughtless moths out there who will be drawn to the flame.

[islam]If she's not wearing a full covering she's not modest[/islam]
A guy wants to fuck his friend’s wife and uses his position of authority to convince/seduce/force her.
When the wife becomes pregnant he arranges for his friend to get killed.
Yet somehow this is all the woman’s fault and the guy is still regarded as a shining example of virtue.
You are not only a liar, Ray, you are just generally an awful human being.

So, basically it's the woman's fault for a man wanting to have sex with her and the consequences he faced afterwards.

Fucking fundies are so afraid of sex they can't even handle the thought of getting an erection.
I knew you had to bend over backwards to shove your head up your ass, but damn, man! There are yogis that can't pull off this kind of chiropractic flexibility....
The lesson of that particular story is that even the best of us ("A man after God's own heart") is still flawed. No one is perfect. The lesson does not have the words 'slut', 'harlot', or 'whore' in it, and nowhere does it say that David wasn't wrong. David was wrong for doing what he did, and Bathsheba was wrong (not "sending someone off to die" wrong, mind you) for going along with it. Everyone was flawed, bad decisions were made. And as I recall, even David realized that what he did was rather fucked up and looked to atone/repent.
Then again, you probably haven't read second Samuel, or most of the rest of the book, so I figure you wouldn't get it anyway. And the concept of admitting that oneself is wrong... well, some things are just beyond your comprehension.
Solomon: 700 wives, 300 concubines.
God committing Statutory Rape with the underage child bride Mary. Also, Adultery against Joseph.
The only sin is lack of Self Control.

What are your crimes, Ray Cumfart? [/$cientology]
What the FUCK Ray? The story, IN THE BIBLE, thinks David was wrong! You are literally arguing against your own god! David gets punished from god for doing this and because he murdered her husband! Read the damn book!
Ray "Hypocrite" Comfort-
Tells everyone to follow the bible when he doesn't follow it himself. He doesn't kill witches, homosexuals, misbehaving children, adulterers, those that wear mixed fabrics, or those that work on the sabbath. He certainly doesn't pay any attention to the "sell all you have, give to the poor, and follow me" thing, either. Such a hypocrite.
So, men are thoughtless moths who are drawn to naked women like moths to a flame, yet it is women who are the lesser sex?
Ray? Are you a man-hater?
Any claims of Bathsheba's wrongdoing in infidelity is overshadowed by the manipulative David who lusted after a married woman and sent her husband to his death in order to have her. This is a textbook example of lust, a sin according to your religion, and, if you had any consistency outside of your sexism, you'd focus your condemnation on him a lot more than you are doing now.

It's wise to be modest about your beliefs, Ray, as such proselytising may irritate and cause a thug to punch you in the face. It'll be your fault too, for provocation.
Yeah like you. Poor Ray, can't control his mind so he blames women for being temptresses. Dress modestly ladies because it gives me an erection. No, I don't take any responsibility for my own dick, its always someone else's fault. You're not a man, you're a pubescent boy running around in an adult body. Someone needs to smack the Jesus out of you.

... uh, no. It really hasn't. I think we've learned a little something about what goes on in your head, though.
@Insult to Rocks
And on top of that, Bathsheba couldn't say "no" to THE KING OF ISRAEL. It was probably either that or death! Finally, you can't blame a woman because a King was a horndog and the palace's architect was a doofus who didn't bother to put the bathing area in a more hidden location.
I mean, really...The ROOF?
Confused?
