The universe is geocentric during the day because you cant travel where the light shines from and geocentric at night because the earth is the best place from which to view the stars (God has arranged them for viewing from earth).
I am speaking practically, of course (I doubt you will ever find a person who productively uses a heliocentric model of the universe - this is the only habitable place in the solar system for a start!).

Via your science I have also concluded that a plastic toy hamburger is the same as a meat one since they look the same. I suggest you dine upon one.
True, noone uses a heliocentric model of the universe, because only the SOLAR SYSTEM is heliocentric. Certainly noone uses a geocentric model for the universe productively either, since it fails to work. Can't pilot a spcce ship, even to the moon, on such a flawed model. And anything more local requires no model of the universe at all!
And habitability is relative. Give Mars a bit more atmosphere and it would be cold, but liveable. Not to mention, different biologies are possible.

But there's no question that people productively use the law of gravity, and that law explains the motion of the planets so accurately that we can back-calculate planetary positions and match observations going all the way back to Galileo.
This is so stupid it hurts.
(Edit: not to mention, the Earth isn't really the best place to view the stars, just ask the HST)
You can also view the stars from an infinite number of other locations in the universe and see, more or less, the same thing.
And what's this about travelling into light? Who are you, Dragonforce?
This is the only place in the Solar System habitable by humans, yes. That still doesn't make Earth the most importantest object ever. (/sarcasm on the grammar there, by the way)
The sun, for example, will continue to burn on even if humanity wipes itself (and the planet) out. On the other hand, if the sun were to go *poof* and vanish, well.
So, lemme get this straight.... The universe is geocentric BECASUE earth is habitable? So, does that mean that if someday in the future they discover a system of stars revolving around an apparently empty space, that empty space may ALSO house a habitable world?
Okay, those arguments make no sense when applied to geocentrism, unless of course you're Dr. Pangloss with a serious head injury. My question is, what is the argument they do apply to?
It...never ceases to amaze me how absolutely backwards some people can be. I mean, seriously. Gottservant, I have to ask...
Did you suffer severe retrograde amnesia that wiped out the last 400 years of scientific development?
I submited this quote more for the sheer lunacy that the reason the universe is geocentric CHANGES between day and night... but I'm glad so many people got something out of it.
Reps for Tempus for the most succinct criticism of this argument.
The universe is geocentric during the day because you cant travel where the light shines from and geocentric at night because the earth is the best place from which to view the stars
LOL whut?
Go back to science class, fuckwit.
geocentric during the day
Um. Spherical Earth (ok, oblate spheroid). Day/night according to whom, exactly? And you need two different "reasons" for geocentrism for day and night, in the first place?
Or to summarize: Whut?
(I doubt you will ever find a person who productively uses a heliocentric model of the universe - this is the only habitable place in the solar system for a start!).
O RLY? There's liquid water on Europa and Callisto. Mars could be made habitable through Terra-forming (and yes I'm aware that would take quite a while) oh and In case you backpedal to 'the universe' here's an Extrasolar Planet
The conceit of thinking we are the pinnacle of creation is wishful thinking of a lonely planet that once thought itself to be the center of the universe. Gallileo proposed that we weren't and Scientists, starting with Copernicus, have backed up this claim with evidence.
" this is the only habitable place in the solar system for a start!)."
This is, so far as we currently understand it, true. If only there were other Solar Systems - maybe even millions of them!
Oh wait.
Since when did space count as part of the earth, Views from space telescopes, such as the famed Hubble Space Telescope, are far better than any on earth.
["because the earth is the best place from which to view the stars"]
Riiiight. Zone of Avoidance, doofus.
"you cant travel where the light shines from and geocentric at night because the earth is the best place from which to view the stars (God has arranged them for viewing from earth)"
Airline pilots who fly across the Pacific (PROTIP: the International Date Line). Those on board the International Space Station. F117-A & B-2 pilots who use GPS & radar. Also, flight computers.
NEXT!
