“Ray, I have an honest question and I'm curious to hear your response. Is there any evidence that can be presented to you that would make you change your mind and say that God, as you understand Him, does not exist?” Ed Gloss
You ask the question as though I have some sort of blind faith that God exists. I don’t. My faith in God doesn’t rest on His existence. It rests on His integrity to keep His promises.
When I look at a high-rise building, I don’t have faith that there as a builder. Rather, I KNOW there was one, because buildings don’t build themselves. That’s just common sense. I also KNOW that a painter exists because I see the painting. Again, paintings don’t paint themselves.
And so the simple logic carries over to creation/nature being empirical evidence of the Creator. It is scientifically impossible for nature to have made itself. It’s also impossible for it to be eternal (because of entropy).
I knew that God existed before I came to know Him (in April of 1972).
So your question is, if atheists could provide me with evidence of the scientific impossibility that nothing created everything, would I say that there is no God?
Only if I was a fool.

"if atheists could provide me with evidence of the scientific impossibility that nothing created everything"
New question for Ray: Is there any evidence that can be presented to you that would make you realize that the scientific theory about the origin of the universe, the Big Bang theory, does NOT say 'nothing created everything'?
But, as you've shown with your stupid banana "argument", you definitely are a fool, Bananaman.
Nature creates itself every spring, when new life emerged out of seemingly dead earth.
Earth is not a closed or isolated system, silly; we have a giant ball supplying more energy to Earth in just eight minutes. But sure, it's not eternal either, as it will become a giant in about 2 billion years and swallow up most of the solar system, including Earth.
How come the simple logic doesn't carry over to God being empirical evidence of a god Creator?
You ask the question as though I have some sort of blind faith that God exists. I don’t. My faith in God doesn’t rest on His existence. It rests on His integrity to keep His promises.
Will someone please explain to me why my irony meter is laughing?
Your "simple logic" is all "simple", no logic. A building, doofus, is what we refer to as a "man-made structure". We have no evidence that other things are "god-made structures"; that's just the concept that you have that means "I have no idea". And as for god keeping his promises, name one. Just one. Nope, just "someday he will...".
And when I see a child, I know that two adult humans had sex.*
* Within statistical probability, taking into account the small number where IVF or a turkey baster was involved. Point is, people, not Magic Superman, make other people.
"When I look at a high-rise building, I don’t have faith that there as a builder. Rather, I KNOW there was one, because buildings don’t build themselves."
No one else thinks everything in the world created itself, you jackass! Stop arguing as though they do!

Only if I was a fool."
Sorry, Ray, but the results are in: you are a fool. If you weren't you would realize the dual facts that A) no theory on the beginning of the universe says "nothing created everything", and B) there is already a fucking ton of evidence for it, that you are simply pretending does not exist.
So your entire belief that the God of Abraham exists and sent His only son to be your personal savior is based on the fact that something did something supernatural 14 1/2 billion years ago? No one but naive amateurs use the old "design argument" as proof that God exists.
I KNOW there was one, because buildings don’t build themselves.
The analogy with buildings is nonsense - buildings don't build themselves out of a single brick, then spit out a brick to build another building. But humans build themselves out of another human's single cell. The process by which that cell becomes a trillion-cell human is pretty well understood and doesn't involve anything supernatural.
++"My faith in God doesn’t rest on His existence. It rests on His integrity to keep His promises. "
Ray, that's indefensibly nonsensical by even your Deros-low standards.
++"Only if I was a fool."
"If"? Ray, just the fact that you don't understand how a hypothetical question works eliminates the "if" from the equation.
"atheists could provide me with evidence of the scientific impossibility that nothing created everything,
Besides idiots like you, Ray, exactly who is saying that "nothing created everything"?
"It is scientifically impossible for nature to have made itself. It’s also impossible for it to be eternal (because of entropy). "
Ah, yes, a "scientific genius" like Ray telling us what is and isn't scientifically possible. Like HE would know. What a fucking idiot.
Ray, why couldn't the universe have always existed, just like your god?
"I KNOW there was one, because buildings don’t build themselves. That’s just common sense. I also KNOW that a painter exists because I see the painting. Again, paintings don’t paint themselves. "
Ray Comfort, begging the question. What a surprise. And writing "I KNOW", like you could know anything. I wouldn't trust you if you told me YOU KNOW the sky is blue.
Ray, if you say "science" merely means "knowledge", what does "scientifically possible" or "scientifically impossible" even mean?
"Knowledgely possible"? "Knowledgely impossible"?
Ray is a fucking idiot.

No, that ISN'T AT ALL what the question is, Ray, you lying dishonest fuck. Nice way to not answer the question, Ray. The person honestly asks a question, and you dishonestly answer a different question.
Typical Ray Comfort Bullshit.
Ray, if "even a fool knows there is no god", what's your excuse?
Even a fool knows the earth is round, and yet you are insisting it is flat. Even a fool knows there is no god, and yet you are insisting there is.
So who's the idiot here, Ray?
"You ask the question as though I have some sort of blind faith that God exists."
Ray, it's rumoured that in a film starring another Ray (Milland) "The Man With X-Ray Eyes", there was an alternate ending which ended up on the cutting-room floor, of the final scene at the Revivalist Meeting tent, where the fire & brimstone preacher exclaims 'If thine eye offends thee, pluck it out!', and Ray's character does just that: and the film ends at the freeze-frame of his empty sockets. He then screams 'I CAN STILL SEE!' , as it's implied that the serum he'd created & used on himself had worked beyond his ocular organs & optic nerves, and had changed his brain completely: it's neural network had, perhaps, become an omni-sensor , and become so acute had this neuro-sensor array, that he could perceive not just the complete Electromagnetic Spectrum, but all dimensions at once: as in the multiverse , and perhaps beyond.
It's intimated that this rumoured scene was a reference to HP Lovecraft, and how things that should not be seen by mere humans could make them insane upon the mere glimpse of such. Milland's character had seen too much.
Stevie Wonder knows that it's insane to walk across a busy freeway.
Do you have 'Faith' enough to do so, wearing a blindfold , Banana Boy...?!
<b>"My faith in God doesn’t rest on His existence. It rests on His integrity to keep His promises.</b>
Of course, since he couldn't <i>make</i> promises, let alone keep them, if he didn't exist, your "faith in his integrity" rests just as much on a blind acceptance that he exists.
So everything afterwards is a false analogy, and your whole answer reduces down to "nothing will ever convince me I'm wrong."
Ray, have you sold everything you have, given to the poor, and followed Jesus yet? That's what your bible says to do. Ray, you must really hate god if you don't follow the bible. Ray, why do you hate god?
Why aren't you following Jesus, Ray? Why don't you follow the bible and kill homosexuals, witches, children that are disobedient, those that work on the sabbath, those that wear mixed fabrics, and everyone that believes different than you? Why do you hate god, Ray?
Why don't you follow the bible, Ray?
"I KNOW there was one, because buildings don’t build themselves. Again, paintings don’t paint themselves."
OF COURSE we know there was a builder and a painter for those things. There were REAL PEOPLE that built the building, and painted the painting. We can even meet the builder and painter, shake their hand, and talk to them and ask them questions, thereby VERIFYING THAT THEY EXIST, AND ARE REAL.
Where do we go to meet god? Can we shake his hand? How do we VERIFY THAT GOD EXISTS? How do we VERIFY THAT GOD IS REAL?
Calling it "creation" implies that there is a creator. Instead, to avoid that implication, let's call it "nature". Nowhere have we ever seen any evidence that nature requires a creator.
(in April of 1972). April 1st?
Only if I was a fool. Yeah, no shit.
@ Swede
..[the sun] will become a giant in about 2 billion years and swallow up most of the solar system, including Earth.
Maybe Ray would like some of those sun dried plantains.
"You ask the question as though I have some sort of blind faith that God exists. sense of honesty, or, you know, "integrity". Hahahaha.
You fool.
This guy has no idea how science works, does he. Atoms, under high enough stress and energy can combine to make new elements! *gasp* And given a long time with more energy, said elements can combine to make molecules! *double gasp!* And given even more time and energy, said molecules can eventually join together to become structures like cells! It is all done randomly and haphazardly, but eventually it happened and life came to be on Earth, which happened to be the perfect distance from the sun and have the right composition of elements to protect the life on Earth from harmful radiation from the sun. No one built it. It all fell into place.
Not that he would believe it, though...
"So your question is, if atheists could provide me with evidence of the scientific impossibility that nothing created everything, would I say that there is no God? "
My question is, what created god?
Wait, I know this one . . .
image
And yes, you are a fool.
You ask the question as though I have some sort of blind faith that God exists. I don’t. My faith in God doesn’t rest on His existence.
So in other words, you have blind faith.
The obvious difference being that we have observed humans building houses and painting walls, whereas God has never been seen to build anything. We have natural explanations for the formation of the Universe, formation of life, evolution, cell multiplication, and any scientific theory; none of it requires God.
"It is scientifically impossible for nature to have made itself. It’s also impossible for it to be eternal (because of entropy)."
Only because you misunderstand the idea behind closed systems and the second law of thermodynamics.
Confused?
