Not contributing to to the exploitation and death of sentient beings should be a no brainer.
There are no reasons to eat meat.

I have to agree with the first sentence. I`m taking the pork out of my diet wherever I can(wasting an already prepared food is also wasting a finite resource and disrespecting the death of the animal, if some animal killed me, I`d rather it ate my meat and made some stuff from my bones and sinew too, instead of wasting my corpse in a ditch, so you won`t see me throwing perfectly good food offered to me, although I will often make a snark to mark that I am not comfortable) and I will end my beef consumption once sufficiently convinced these are sentient enough to suffer fear and understand what is happening(not stopping on the poultry though, it`s a species wide revenge for their ancestors eating my ancestors milions of years ago, tables turned you razor teethed, green scaled bitches ;). Now my favourite is insect(not arachnid, they seem to be quite sentient in their way, xcept scorpions, yet I`ve never had a delicious skoal, somehow they don`t seem to sell it in my country) and seafood meat anyway and with these primitive organisms I need not concern myself with their sentience. I disagree on the outcome but the premise I believe is correct here.
Not really fundie, I eat meat but that's just because I'm fucking lazy and its in everything, I could go without it if I had even the teensiest bit of willpower. There are no GOOD reasons for me to eat meat.
Vegans and animal rights activists are insane sociopaths. Animals may be sentient to a small degree, but they are NOT sapient, which is the threshold for deserving rights. Humans (and maybe crows) are the only truly sapient beings that we know of, Fictional sapients include daleks, ewoks, vulcans, ponies from MLP and changelings. They all deserve rights if real. Tauntauns, manticores, etc do not. Seeing PETA bullshit makes me want to torture animals. I'd happily flay a baby crocodile if it kept crocodile farming legal. All animals should be sustainably exploited if possible and if people want it.
Fun fact: some individuals have medical conditions that require they take meat.
And before you ask, taking supplements don't count as vegan. They use parts of animals too.
@Skide : I am woefully u familiar with the culinary properties of insects beyond candy (in which context, chocolate covered ants and crickets are divine, and I love lollipops with scorpions in them). What do you recommend?
@Randomosaur: Would these be the humans who are burning the world because they're so fucking stupid they refuse to alter their lifestyles? I feel far more for harmed animals than humans, though I will admit that I'm a misanthropic bastard and might be a sociopath.
Confused?
