you want to be skinny
right?
Yeah, most people do.
1. If you aren’t thin you aren’t attractive.
Wrong. Although thin is better for "physical" attractiveness, there's many other ways to be attractive besides your physical looks.
2. Being thin is more important than being healthy.
I see. The ideal human being is that picture of an African child dying of hunger.
3. You must buy clothes, style your hair, take laxatives, starve yourself, do anything to make yourself look thinner.
Why not just exercise and BE thinner, but have your natural fat converted to muscle, which is superior to fat in many cases?
4. Thou shall not eat without feeling guilty.
That's pretty fucked up to try and guilt trip people into not doing a natural function of life.
5. Thou shall not eat fattening food without punishing oneself afterwards.
Unless that punishment involves working out more, I can't see why you'd punish yourself for eating something that was probably pretty damn good (like fattening food usually is). Unless you have mental illness like anorexia.
6. Thou shall count calories and restrict intake accordingly.
Well, that's not bad advice, but it probably is taken with everything else here.
7. What the scale says is the most important thing.
BOW DOWN TO THE ALMIGHTY SCALE, IT RULES YOUR LIFE, FORGET BEING A NORMAL HUMAN BEING, WORSHIIIIIIIIIIIIIIP MEEEEEEEEEEEEE.
8. Losing weight is good/gaining weight is bad.
Sometimes it's the other way around, imagine that.
9. You can never be too thin.
If you look like a Holocaust survivor on the day of your liberation from the camp, well...
10. Being thin and not eating are signs of true will power and success
True willpower is not being a slave to an eating disorder. And there's nothing successful about being a bag of skin and bones, that's been an illness or a sign something's wrong in every culture that's ever existed.
11. Ana is a lifestyle not a diet
Huh, this makes it look more like a cult. It certainly isn't a very good lifestyle either way.
