Elon Musk has earned every single penny he's made. I hope he’s a trillionaire because guess what? With his money, he’s literally letting blind people see, he’s letting paralyzed people walk. I want him to have the money. Not Elizabeth Warren who’s gonna funnel it to fraud in Somalia!

Earned? Like he earned the diamond mines his family owned? The guy buys promising businesses and then claims he founded them, while draining public money into his coffers and covering up his lawbreaking through his control of politicians. The impulse to see rich people as better than oneself is z hell of a psychological disorder.
I’m honestly not sure if I am really qualified to judge whether someone I don’t personally know has really “earned” the money he’s made. Now, OK, if Musk is really doing those things, letting blind people see and letting paralyzed people walk, sure, that’d be admirable. But that’s two totally different questions, anyway, aint it? Whether someone has truly earned their money vs whether they’re doing good things with that money. Those don’t necessarily go hand in hand, I think…

100 percent agreeing on that. I guess it’s cus when I grew up, we were like, uh what’s the word….comfortably middle-class I guess. Dad had the decently paying blue collar job (which maybe doesn’t exist anymore these days like it did then, but’s a whole other issue lol), we had a decent house in the suburbs, and all that. I never looked down on people poorer than me, because I’d heard enough stories from my mom, who grew up like that. (and she always does describe her childhood as being happy, even tho they were barely scraping by at times)
Everytime I see the word ‘trillionaire,’ my mind jumps to Ted Faro from Horizon Zero Dawn , and suddenly I don’t want trillionaires to exist. Mostly because once they have that much money, there is literally nothing stopping them from indulging in every poorly thought whim that comes to them, like investing in shitty rockets that explode, or shitty electric cars that explode, or giant war machines that feed on ruined biomass and have decided that taking orders from said biomass really is optional.
Okay, maybe not that last one, but why take the chance?
Confused?
