I was told by my professor that, yes the Holocaust was evil and wrong, but God will often use evil (not having created it, however) to further His own ends.
My professor who traveled to Israel many many times during his career, said that Israelis themselfs have told him, that God used Hitler and the Holocaust as a whip to drive the jews back into the land.
Think about it... it if hadn't occured, most of those jews were well off in the countries they'd lived in. Many successful professionals. They would have had no reason to go to Israel. They were comfortable where they were.
Hitler and the holocaust were a whip used by God, to push the Jews back to their land.
I believe it 100%.

Hindsight rationalisations. That never happens in religious idealisms, does it?
FSTDT is a cornucopia full of such stupid 'for the best' apologetics.
So God allowed six million Jews to do to force them to drop their livelihoods and security to fight over a strip of land that sees conflict even to this day, vacilating between relying on Soviets, Americans and nukes so they won't be annihilated? And for what, really?
"God will often use evil (not having created it, however)"
Don't read your own holy book? God created everything, evil included.
IS 45:7 I form the light, and create darkness: I make peace, and create evil: I the LORD do all these things.
"I believe it 100%."
It's a good thing reality doesn't give a fuck what you believe.
That's just sick. So God let millions of Jews die and millions more suffer, just so he could uproot millions of Jews into a land where they could spend the next several decades (at least) constantly fighting with the locals?
Shit, that's almost as bad, if not worse, than most Old Testament stories.
I'd be readier to believe your historical insights if they were by someone with a basic command of grammar. Why, then, did Hitler not just expel the Jews to Palestine? Why did God not extend the Holocaust to the United States, Argentina, Brazil and the UK, where there were significant Jewish populations? Did they not matter? And why is most of the Jewish population of Israel today not from the European countries heavily affected by the Holocaust but rather from the Middle East and North Africa? And you may be surprised to learn that "most of those jews" were not well off in Europe but that most, especially in Poland and Eastern Europe, were very poor. Many did not go to Palestine because a) they had no reason to believe that the Germans or their neighbors would kill them; b) anti-Semitic legislation was prevalent across the world which prevented Jews from moving; c) movement to Palestine was heavily restricted by the British; d) the culture of the Yishuv was very different to that of the shtetl; and e) most could not afford to go, even with help from Zionist charities.
but God will often use evil (not having created it, however)
Guess again.
(KJV) Isaiah 45:7 I form the light, and create darkness: I make peace, and create evil : I the LORD do all these things
If this is indeed true, Scilent, then you yourself must believe that God doesn't give a crap about the well being of the Jews. If someone is a successful, well off professional, they don't need to abandon their homes and their communities in which they have deep roots to live in a foreign land with people they barely know at all.
You should have a word with Ebon on these forums. He can explain to you what these thoughts you have mean.

Think about it . . . you're saying gods chosen people are better off than if they stayed in countries where they were well off. Why do you hate jews?
Why is it that everytime god wants to do anything it always involves a lot of people getting killed?
Too many sinners, I'll drown everyone.
Sodom & Gomorrah is too wicked, I'll kill everyone.
The Pharaoh won't listen, I'll kill all the 1st born.
The jews need to go home, I'll start WW2.
What about the millions of dead people who weren't jewish? Collateral damage?
Raptards. Dumb as a box of rocks.
"God will often use evil (not having created it, however) to further His own ends."
Nope, sorry. You don't get to have it both ways. Using an evil to your own ends is in itself evil. Your god is a prick, just accept that and we can move on to one of the other plethora of things that's wrong with your religion.
I have lived in Israel, and have had both Palestinian and Israeli girlfriends.
You are a very stupid gullible person.
Don't forget: if God hadn't used the Plague to kill a third of the human population of Europe, we might never have been whipped to invent streptomycin! And think of all the blind people who would never have developed a keen awareness of sounds were it not for their blindness. Plus, who would build a tornado shelter in Oklahoma if God didn't whip them into it by wiping out their towns with tornadoes.
...So let me get this straight; god killed millions of jews just to force them to abandon their homes, homes they've been living happily in for possibly generations. All to relocate to a place where all their neighbours hate their guts with a passion. And this is supposed to be a good thing... why exactly?
"God will often use evil (not having created it, however)" Sorry, but don't you people keep insisting god created everything , including "evil"?
I was told by my professor that, yes the Holocaust was evil and wrong, but God will often use evil (not having created it, however) to further His own ends.
For a moment, I thought that professor was Anna Diehl, but then Scilent said "his career."
Obviously the UK and the USA, who were not ardent Israel supporters at the time, were not let in on God's plan, nor was Hitler and the Nazis who genuinely believed that they could win the war and annihilate the Jews under the guise of Christianity.
"God will often use evil to further His own ends."
That's pretty much the definition of an evil character.
God is all powerful and all knowing. That means he could have come up with a way to accomplish his goal without the Holocaust, but he chose to use the Holocaust anyway . How does that not make him an evil being?!?
Of course, you don't actually care about the Jews. You only want Israel to exist to fulfill prophecies so the end of the world can happen. It doesn't matter to you if a few of them die off as long as you get to play with Jesus.
This is plain awfull. So this person is fully convinced that his/her god used a genocide against his supposed choosen people for his/its own end, and finds this a good thing? Despite the fact that a supposed omnipotent and omniscent being surely could have come up with a nigh infinite amount of less terrible ways to acoomplish the same goal? Disgusting.
Confused?
