Why then is the Bible too confusing for you? (You know it was written in the English language in 1611 to farmers of a 5th grade reading level.
In 1611 most farmers couldn't read. At that time the bible was still almost exclusively the province of the church and few if any of the layity possesed or read directly from the bible, KJV or otherwise. That would not change until Guttenberg invented the printing press.
Yet the Bible (KJV1611) which came from the Textus Receptus which comes from the Old and New Testaments written in Hebrew and Greek respectively, which was completed around 90-100AD is not taken seriously as a history book
90-100 AD? There are portions of the NT that hadn't even been written yet and wouldn't be for quite a few years afterwards. The Textus Receptus was compiled only a short time before the 1611 KJV translation.
Where do people think we got our year from?
A completely arbitrary calender created by a christian many, many years after any supposed "messiah"
It has been 2007 years since Jesus birth. He died (and rose again)around 33AD.
And we know this because of the wealth of contemporary writings that chronicled all those events as they happened, right? Wrong. Every date you can give for any biblical event is totally arbitrary and in many cases they do not synch up with things that we know happened in certain times.
the Bible is a very good read and even if you don't believe it, but maybe it will soften your heart and you won't have all this hate towards Christians.
I've read the bible several times and it contains many intriguing myths and the KJV is a wonderful example of middle elglish prose. But none of it makes me think that it's anything but a work of fiction.
Also you seem to be under the impression that to be an atheist that one must hate christians and christianity. That is simply not true, I personally, and many, if not all atheists I know could care less what mythology you subscribe to, the problems arise when theists seem to think that their religiosity gives them the right to dictate to us what we do or do not believe, think, or feel.
Just because I think your mythology is just that does not mean I hate you or hold any ill will towards you, frankly I just don't care whether you believe of not. But what I do not stand for is someone of any religion attempting to dictate what I or anyone I know must believe in, That is simply not anyone elses right, I do not tell christian that they cannot believe in god, I would appreciate the same courtsey from you and yours.
