I am glad that the DPRK has this means of self defense now. I saw an anarchist bashing the DPRK on Twitter, and I think to myself: "Does this person enjoy getting their asses kicked? Do this person actually want to win?" I am beginning to think that they don't want to win, or at least that they don't want to fight. I can't believe that anyone enjoys getting their asses kicked that much. You need a state and a means of self-defense to protect revolutionary gains. This has been proven time and time again.
The anarchists' ideas sound very fine, but it seems to me that they only work in frictionless systems where the national bourgeoisie peacefully agree to leave power and the international bourgeoisie do not try to crush the revolution. Most of their criticisms of successful Marxist revolutions seem to be criticisms of the measures those Marxist revolutions had to take to ensure their own survival and continued revolutionary progress.
If the Soviet Union or the DPRK or Cuba grew crooked in the eyes of these anarchists, it is entirely because the imperialist-capitalist nations and their bourgeoisie did not allow those revolutions to grow straight! Rosa Luxemburg excoriated the German Social-Democrats of her time for this sort of criticism of the Bolsheviks, saying that it was wrong of them to expect the Bolsheviks to be saints who could perform miracles.
It seems to me that most of us here understand that plans will not survive contact with reality. We make plans with goals in mind, reality happens, and we adjust based on that experience. Marx himself did this over the course of his life, in light of what he had observed. Socialism in one country had never been anticipated, and was not even considered possible until the Soviet Union did it.
