Jasmin, you should sue your parents. They ruined your future when they didn't get you a decent education.

Damn, I have all sorts of witty retorts about intelligence only improving if we select for it and (ab)using ducks as sexual role-models, but I can't bring myself to write them down because this is a 14-year old kid.
So I'll just berate the parents for not providing their daughter with the education she could (and should) have had...
If this isn't a Poe, I hope your homeschooling includes lessons in burger flipping, because it's probably the only job you'll be able to get. That is, until your father finds you a husband to support you.
Yet what Jasmin fails to realize (Probably because of her home school education) is that in evolution homosexuality is a non factor as it would not spreed. After all evolution is due to sharing survival traits though future generations though mating and well homosexuality isn't exactly a trait that will be massed on though mating.
Homosexuality is harmless from an evolutionary viewpoint. Not to mention that homosexuality effects a small enough population of the over all population that it does not hurt population growth at all.

What's the pro-bullying crowd? There's Dave Daubenmire, but he holds similar views to the letter-writer (assuming it's not a Poe).
I personally support the freedom to home-school but any freedom can be abused. Freedom of religion is good but unfortunately leads to cults; freedom to choose your child's education, ditto, but unfortunately leads to the Andy Schlaflys of the world.
Humans haven't forced ducks into same-sex unions so why haven't they evolved further into a niche that could challenge our ancestors (in what?)? All this is ignoring the fact that our ancestors weren't hindered by homosexuality, because the majority of people prefer opposite sex.
Also, I agree with others that state that this is a possible poe.

Agreed. Also, I have issues with the newspaper that published this, if the author is indeed genuine. Surely they must know that the argument that is being put forth is wayward to say the least. There is the fear that they may have published this letter for a laugh, which would be exploitative of this teen, but if they think that what's being argued has substance, and are publishing it to create debate, then they are a bunch of clueless morons creating controversy where there is none. And they'd still be exploiting the teen.
