[On a video against legalizing marijuana:]
About 55 years ago I heard a Chinese man say on a documentary TV news program. "We will overtake and ruin America. And we will subdue and ruin her from the inside using your own people". I didn't know what he meant but I do now.

He doesn't need to do it; our people's idiocy is already costing us dearly. See also: Election Day 2014, except Pennsylvania, Nebraska's 2nd District, and Florida's 2nd District.
If you heard it on TV it has to be true.
@Doubting Thomas:
Well, we all know that legalizing same-sex marriage means that everyone has to marry someone of the same gender and that legal abortion means that every woman has to have an abortion, so why should pot be different?
Wait, I still don't know how. If we legalize marijuana we have less non-violent people in prison learning how to commit worse crimes from other criminals. That sounds like a good thing for our nation. Unless the grand plan is to give out free pot to everyone and turn us loose on our nation's largest farms with the world's biggest case of the munchies.
"We will overtake and ruin America. And we will subdue and ruin her from the inside using your own people"
'...your own people' sounds more like a reference to the GOP and their big-business buddies who shipped the USA's jobs to China than anything to do with some potheads to me.
I'm big into Cold War history and I've seen this quote attributed to no less than a dozen people, all of them Soviet communists, but never once have I seen it attributed to the Chinese.
Of the dozen Soviets it is attributed to, there is no source.
It probably comes from one of the many scare books fabricated by anti-communists during the McCarthyism era.
As such, it's pure bullshit. 1960 was only about 23 years after marijuana was made legal in the first place.
If we survived from 1776 to 1937 with legal marijuana, re-legalizing it won't do us any harm. After all, we'd been the #1 economic power since the 1880s.
One guy said something pretty bland 55 years ago, and you've kept it in your memory for this long?
From the outside, it looks like it was the war on drugs that was ruining your country from inside. This legalizing seems to calm things down a bit.
And, what do the Chinese have to do with marijuana?
You do know that these plants are not related, right?
