[Discussion about the term "LGBT"]
I go with Gay & Lesbian Alliance. Bisexuality is just a phase, and transsexuality has absolutely nothing to do with the rest of them, it's a mental disorder as opposed to a sexual orientation.

1 You may have a point about gender identity needing its own thing separate from sexuality.
2 While Gender Dysphoria is recognized by mental health professionals, the treatment is allowing them to transition. So, I fail to see your point.
3 I can appreciate a any gender. I find that they all can be attractive both physically and on a deeper level. Now I realize that I am still young. However, I have done a tremendous amount of both research and introspection and I am confident that this not a phase any more than homosexuality.
A phase that can last your entire life. And transgenderism isn't claimed by any but idiots like yourself to be a sexuality in the first place. The reason why the transgendered are included in the LGBT banner is because little shitwits like yourself regularly accuse them of simply having a mental disorder. You know, like you used to do with homosexuals before them. Shared oppressors make for shared alliances.
Bisexuality is just a phase
There can't be this many people in a "phase" for as long as they were.
transsexuality... a mental disorder as opposed to a sexual orientation

@God
It figures. I'd wager 80-90% of Gabberglop is like this.
By the way, how are you doing recently? Smite any ethnic groups lately? Condemn any sinners to hell?
Bisexuality is just a phase
Unless you count my entire life as just a phase, that's bullshit. Sure, I married a woman and am faithful to her, but that doesn't make me any less bisexual than I was before.
why do some folks find it so hard to believe bisexuals, in particular, can even exist? why should human sexual attraction have to be a simple binary, black-and-white thing, when seemingly nothing else at all to do with human biology or psychology is that simplistic? when human psychology, in particular, seems to be nothing but a huge snarly tangled mess of seamlessly sliding greyscales with nary a binary in the mix?
i myself am about as heterosexual a person as most folks run into, probably a low one or zero-point-something on the Kinsey scale if i am allowed to self-categorize quite informally, yet even i have on (exceedingly) rare occasions looked at someone of my own gender and thought "he looks hot". just because the distribution across the scale might be oddly polarized towards the ends of it, doesn't mean there can't be a minority population spread along the middle; it'd be strange to me if there weren't, humans not being binary machines.
Wow... seems I've been in this phase for a while now. With no signs of ever leaving it. After resisting it for years. Which sounds... well, like no phase ever, really.
You know, it's simple, binary thinking like this that defines a fundie... and the anti-LGBT crowd. I'm starting to think this is a piecemeal tactic: "Well, if we want to get LGBT civil rights codified into law, maybe if we just work one or two letters at a time..."
And why do you people keep saying transgendered people possess a mental disorder by their very nature? Some people are just blind to history...
And why do I get the feeling that the poster thinks bisexuality is a women-only thing? My Y chromosome and I beg to differ if that's the case.
Speaking as a trans woman, people like you are the reason the transgender suicide rate is so high. Also, where do those of us who are both transgender and gay fall for you then? Am I okay because I'm a lesbian, or am I not because I was born with a male body? Not that I actually think that this person put that much thought into this bullshit...
@Set Abominae
" Not that I actually think that this person put that much thought into this bullshit..."
Some of them put a great deal of thought into it, the problem is the thought is "how do I prove my funditity is correct given mounds of hostile facts . . .".
I must be following the right people on tumblr. I saw a lot of "we <3 our bi brothers and sisters" during pride. The only anti-bi posts I saw were refutations of the bi-doesn't-count idiots.
The trans/non-binary/genderfluid/intersex community is really its own thing. They share the flag with the LGB more because we have common enemies than common grounds.
Which isn't to say a transwoman can't be a lesbian. Only that one is an orientation and the other is a gender.
Y'know, you remind me of that jackass that I worked with who called me a breeder because despite sleeping with guys, I'm in an open poly relationship with three women. ...Also reminds me of the first guy I dated, who outright told me I was just a phase for him. ...I don't like people like you.
Confused?
