ok, ONE SPECIES can NOT ever change into something else. ADAPTATION is NOT evolution. We, as humans have never and will never turn into something else (evolve). If I live in a house with a very short ceiling, I'll hunch over, ADAPT. If I walk barefoot all the time, I'll develop calcium deposits in my bones, I'll ADAPT.

EVOLUTION DOESN'T WORK THAT.....
Forget it. This guy's completely clueless. Not really fundie, just totally stupid.
Evolution by natural selection occurs in populations rather than families. StrengthFromAbove83: Given that your family doesn't exhibit any genetic variation whatsoever, you shouldn't expect them to evolve.
Trailer homes do have low ceilings; I'll give you that, hunchback.
Speciation has been observed in fruit flies. After being split into two experimental groups and fed two different kinds of food, the fruit flies became two distinct populations incapable of interbreeding. Therefore, two different species. This idiot will say "yeah, but they're still fruit flies." Of course they're still fruit flies. And you're still an ape.
Your examples suck. They portray change within an individual's lifetime when you should've been trying to provide examples between generations. That is what your fellow fundies are refering to when they refer to adaption (which is actually evolution at work). Given enough time the differences between your descendants and yourself will increase to the point where those differences are so great that one of your descendants will be a different species, not from their parents or grandparents (and so on) but from you. This is something that happens over a very long period of time so when you say "adaption" is possible you're failing to see the big picture. By that I mean you see "adaptation" (evolution) taking place now, but you refuse to consider what effects they will have in the long term. Something I assume you do because it hurts that little brain of yours to think beyond the box you live in. But believe it or not, the world is not limited to what has happened in your lifetime or what has happened in the few thousand years of Human history.
ahum.
Lamarkianism is WRONG.
That's right, hunch over and go through life dragging your knuckles. "Adapt" yourself right back into arboreal apehood. Over generations, your descendants will lose cranial volume (occiputal) to accomodate the shift of the spine to the rear, and the plane of the face will necessarily adapt to put the mouth well in front of the nose.
Intelligent lifeforms, on the other hand, have the talent of modifying their environment to suit them.
“ok, ONE SPECIES can NOT ever change into something else.”
Spoken confidently. What experiments or observations can you submit in support of this firm conclusion?
“ADAPTATION is NOT evolution.”
Can you define evolution in such a way as to exclude adaptation?
“We, as humans have never and will never turn into something else (evolve).”
We’re evolving right now.
“If I live in a house with a very short ceiling, I'll hunch over, ADAPT. If I walk barefoot all the time, I'll develop calcium deposits in my bones, I'll ADAPT.”
Individuals don’t evolve. None of this is part of evolution, dork.
Confused?
