If Obama played basketball on Sunday instead of going to church, he should have let people know that before he was elected. No, he did not do that. Instead, he convinced the american public that he was a church-going christian. That was probably the deciding factor in some of the votes. This seems phony to me.
What message does this send to young black men? Unlike CGP I think it would serve a better leadership purpose if Obama found time to go to church instead of finding time to play basketball instead.

He wasn't elected for his basketball skills or his church-going habits. He was elected because he was the best candidate.
Stop crying and try working with your new president to repair the damage done by the last one (who ironically, achieved his position in large part due to his church-going habits).
I'm not even American, but I wish all Americans well in the new era, and I'm absolutely sure it will be better for all of them than the last 8 years have been.
Maybe he should have been riding his bike, or trying to swallow pretzels whilst snorting coke...
@ Cabraxas
... the last one (who ironically, achieved his position in large part due to his church-going habits).
alleged church-going habits. Read; Photo Ops.
Well, you cant help but respect the oppinion of someone who misspells "magnum".
@Cabraxas and Philbert McAdamia: if "church-going habits" is a euphemism for "massive electorial fraud," then yes, that's exactly how we got the the last guy.
Sorry if someone beat me to it, but:
Does anyone else here give a flying fuck at a rolling doughnut what our president does on his sundays?
I sure don't.
Maybe he also jerks off on the bible and eats babies, I wouldn't care about that either.
Most people don't give a shit whether Obama played basketball on Sundays, and it's really none of anybody's fucking business.
Stop sticking your nose into other people's business and do something useful for a change.
I didn't know that basketball took a whole day. I was under the impression that you could both go to church before noon AND play a game of basketball in the afternoon.
The deciding factor regarding "which party is to rule the country?" is whether the head guy goes to church or not? THAT seems phony to me.
Religion is a personal issue, it shouldn't be mixed with politics.
(Except for making sure that everyone has the right to belong to any religion they want, or no religion at all.)
So President Obama likes to shoot B-ball rather than sit in some stuffy old building? He's celebrating life in his way, and it's got fuck all to do with you what he does in his spare time. Right now he's got far more important matters to attend to.
Like repairing the fucked-up country he'd inherited from the previous administration, led by your God Emperor of Fucking Up, George Dumbya Bush.
Coupled with raising his daughters, Sasha & Malia, frankly doing something as irrelevant as 'worshipping' an equally irrelevant 'God' is rather low on his list of priorities.
Do you want a healthy economy, a (more or less) fully-employed workforce, and diplomatically restored USA, .44Magnom? Well then.
STFU.
He's not the only one who skips church on Sunday. Take a swing by your local golf course. It's packed. Leagues take up most of the weekends, and others get any tee time they can. If you haven't reserved in advace, forget it. And that's what your neighbors are doing this Sunday.

Actually FSM, I might have a problem with the baby-eating. I mean, how would that represent change from the Cheney administration?
Confused?
