Vestigial organs are the invention of evolutionists. My grandmother was lost her tailbone from an accident when she was 50 years old. For the next 40 years she had pain sitting for any length of time. I have all my teeth----------wisdom and all. It is very hard for me to bight off more than I can chew....... Goosebumps help to warm one up when one stands in a draft. GOD did not make any unuseful parts; however, HE has allowed man's body to cope when some parts (because of a sinful world) go bad. That was a blessing.

Ah, the little nipple.
"bight" ???? hahahahaha
Um ... your grandmother had pain when she sat for any length of time because the tailbone nerves were still there.
If she hadn't been born with a tailbone, she wouldn't have had those tailbone nerves, and could have sat down comfortably for just as long a period as someone with a tailbone could.
Oh, and removing the rear molars does not make it any easier to "bight" off more than you can chew.
Now, would you care to comment on the structure of the lower back, or the utility of the tonsils?
I'm having my two wisdom teeth forcefully removed from my jaw about three days after Christmas, on my holiday break. Chew on that for a minute. I'll probably be personally cursing out whatever God decided that I have to give up vacation time for surgery.
And I'm sure you'd like to meet the person getting all four wisdom teeth out, plus a root canal.
Flimsy anecdotal evidence doesn't prove a single thing. And remember, my anecdotal evidence is as valid as yours.
I've had all 4 of my wisdom teeth removed when I was 18, because it was painful and because it'd get worse 10 years later if I didn't do anything.
Anyway who the hell told you goosebumps are vestigial?
Goosebumps are an organ? O_o
For some reason, I'm actually surprised he has ANY teeth. Don't know why.
Another one for the Fundie Word Redefinition Project. Vestigial doesn't mean "useless." It means "rudimentary." For example, a vestigial arm could be moved and used, but it wouldn't have the full capabilities of a regular arm.
...I never had wisdom teeth. And X-rays confirm I never will. Just born without them.
So from what you say, I should be sad. But from what everyone else says, I should be glad.
Given that I have a very small mouth (unlike you), I think I'll go with the latter.
Toenails, anybody? Toes, I gather, are good for maintaining balance and a greater degree of flexibility in movement, but the nails? Fucking useless. All they do is sit there needing trimming all the time, except when they get ingrown and can thoroughly cripple your feet, or a fungus gets into them which is the very devil to get rid of.
"Vestigial" doesn't mean "utterly useless." Even the human appendix has a function. It can store beneficial bacteria for replacing the gut flora.
That doesn't mean it's essential. The appendix really causes more problems than its worth, people who don't have one live without problems, and a few people are born without one and survive without any ill effects whatsoever. It still has a function, but the overall trend is for its reduction and possible eventual loss. Same with wisdom teeth. They can be useful as replacements if you tend to lose teeth while young, but most people nowadays don't need them...and mine tried to grow in sideways.
Actually, goosebumps are considered vestigial because they're left behind from when humans were covered in fur.
Vestigial=/=useless.
But, if you want useless vestigials, how about the appendix, the tonsils, and the male nipple? *Looks at name.* Evidentally you've already considered the last one....
I don't think it's accurate to say a fetus's default sex is female. The sex is decided by the sperm. But it's semi-female...or something.
Biology was a few years ago, can't remember that well!
You may have wisdom teeth , but...
Also, way to completely miss the point of what the word "vestigial" even means. Next time, try understanding the concepts you're critiquing. And our bodies "coping when some parts go bad" isn't a "blessing" from God if God was the one who made those parts go bad in the first place (since he's the one who supposedly made the world "sinful" as a punishment for two people eating a piece of fruit he made available for them).
@clockworkgirl21
Left without a Y chromosone qualifier they will develop as female, at some stage at least the Y creates a change in the development and continues to reshape us until adulthood.
If anything, scientifically, females are the standard or template and males are a mutation that proven beneficial to varied populations. I've overstated that probably but it does roll that way
Kinda blows the Woman created from man theory of religion.
As to Little Nipper and your grandmother losing her tailbone
1) she lived to a ripe old age without it
2) any accident that you lose your tailbone in has to result in pelvic and hip issues in most cases.
As to wisdom teeth
1) many have no issue with them, in fact a dentist has to identify them before some know they have them. The point is we're hardly perfectly made when our natural growth can and does kill us.
2) some never get them and some only get a upper or lower pair.
And on goosebumps
1) They're on the same key points of a human body as they are on furry mammals, they are proven to be hair manipulators, to fluff up for insulation on some, cooling on others and making yourself bigger for others. Birds carry the same mechanism for feathers. Humans don't feel warmer from them, we react to a chill or fright because they still carry that biologically inplanted reaction. Just scare Robin Williams and he'll fluff up like an Ewok
Confused?
