“"I personally was indoctrinated, baptized and raised by passive Christians. In my preteen years I took up religious studies as a hobby, mainly looking for answers. Atheism was the result, not a choice." Tyler Flood”
Pretty much my experience. I had questions, all i got was slogans, lies, and a refusal to engage in the discussion at hand. I realized NO religion offers answers, just IOUs and platitudes. The atheism was inevitable.
“Let me rephrase this a little so that it makes sense:”
No, Ray, i would not let you rephrase this to fit it into your preconceptions. That’s the ‘refusal to engage’ that led to my atheism.
"I personally did everything 'Christian,' except I didn't come to know the Lord.”
So you’re blaming the victim, Ray. It’s not the the religion failed HIM, HE failed the religion.
Which doesn’t really answer ANY questions.
"When I hit my teenage years the hormones kicked in, and suddenly the female form sure looked better to me than Noah and his silly Ark.”
He made no mention of females. He quite easily could be asexual. Or gay. But the questions still remain, you hack.
"So I became an atheist. I pretended”
And now, Ray, you’re LYING that He’s the one telling lies.
I’m an atheist, i don’t PRETEND that I am, or that ‘nothing created everything’ is a summation of the Big Bang theory.
“and joyfully followed my overwhelmingly sinful desires.”
Standard strawman of atheist motives.
Not reflected in any atheist’s testimony.
“The result has been the temporal but wonderful pleasures that come with sin.”
This isn’t rephrasing, Ray, this is you giving a sermon.
“I choose them above God's promise of everlasting life."
And you forget the ‘amen’ at the end.
