"My grandmother came here. My mother is mixed race and by extension so am I. All of us have faced racism. Open and outright and violent. My grandmother had to fight to get her daughter educated properly. My mother fought the National Front. I was sent away from Glasgow aged 13 because a rather accepting father decided to hold a hammer to my head for daring to talk to his daughter.

After all he didn't want some sand nigger (in his words) touching his daughter.

It's not us that's the problem mate. We are quite social and get along quite well with people. The problem is we are discriminated against.

The people treating as as outsiders are people like yourself. Not us."

Well it's a natural and unfortunate consequence of your existence. If you move to your country of ethnic origin, you wouldn't face as much racism perhaps?

I won't apologise for the fact this is a white country populated white people for a thousand years and the comparatively recent decision to flood us with immigrants (since the 60s) has not been met with open arms. Don't blame the simple minded people who feel like they are protecting their community and way or life, blame your grandmother that left her country of origin to come and live in a foreign land.
