[My wife happens to be Arabic and they derive their history from Ishmael, son of Abraham. Of course your response will be that I am making this up as well. Do you tell that to anyone who says something you don't want to hear?]
Why do you assume what my response will be, and that I don't want to hear about your wife's descent from Abraham? I just asked the other poster how he knew that his wife was also descended from Abraham.
I'm very happy to hear from anyone whose family members are also ancestrally related to the ancestors of Jesus Christ and his disciples.
As far as I can tell, the only way we can know for sure that we are ancestrally descended from, and biologically related to, your wife's Arabic ancestors is by assuming that traditionally accepted written accounts of Arabic and Semitic history are true. If we accept the ancestral fact that Arabs and Jews are descended from Abraham, then we must also accept the historical fact that 175 year old Abraham was descended from 950 year old Noah, and that Noah's written account of the flood is historical data.
Otherwise, everything mankind believes, says or writes about human nature and natural history may be regarded as mythological.
