Regressive attitudes towards women - well what can I say I believe in more traditional gender roles, I think men and women are different, each better at different things. Men are not better than women, just different, and when feminists try to usurp masculine roles, it just doesn't work. There are always exceptions of course.
I'm 100% supportive of you as a matter of strategy to put up optics so that we don't alienate women but I've also given many examples of modern women who haven't done a good job of defending their countries interests' when put into high-powered political positions (if you read my other post), both on the West and the East.
I also believe there's a difference between optics and actually letting the likes of Dilma Rousseff, Tsai Ing Wen, Tomomi Inada, Park Geun Hye run their countries - they objectively have not done a good job. And again, I don't want to get into nature vs nurture, just a statistical argument.

It is fundie because for him, somehow, women do not make competent leaders because they are women. His call to "masculine roles" reeks of people who do not think past traditions (which generally follow religions).

The more I hear about Dilma Rousseff, the more it sounds like she was pushed towards the side because she wasn't corrupt ENOUGH.
Three of our seven ordinary political parties have women leaders, and one party have a man and a woman leader, so we have 50/50 in government; another statistical argument. It's the two conservative parties and one of the liberal parties that have women leaders. The socialist parties have men, and the environmentalist party have shared leadership.

And that, folks, is why stereotypes are so stupid. There are always exceptions. Divide humans up by race or sex or nationality, and their aptitudes physically or mentally or any other characteristic can be plotted on a bell curve. And however you slice and dice it, those curves always overlap nearly completely. Conclusion: stereotypes are for mental midgets, and lazy ones at that.
Well, I do most of the cooking around the house, while my wife is working in her University lab. She makes more money than I do, for which I'm grateful. She also handles the family finances, because she's better at basic math than I, as well as advanced math that I can't begin to follow. I was the primary caregiver for our son, and he turned out just fine, thank you. Maybe we're both transgender and just haven't figured it out yet.
Your statement that there are exceptions just emphasizes that individuals are different. Some women will perform better in combat better than some men, just as some men will be better chefs. Unless you can set up some kind of computer simulation that can predict the future, you'll never be able to say for sure whether a man or woman in a high-powered political position would do a better job of defending their country's interests.
Given the current state of the world and most countries, where men have been in charge for hundreds of years, I don't see where we could do any worse by putting women in charge for awhile. At least, most women are more likely to make decisions based on how it will affect the future of their life, their family, city, state, country. To make a blatantly stereotypical example, women know enough to save money to pay the rent, instead of blowing it on beer during a football game.
Reading your posts Swede and Churchy, I was just thinking of the, "Men cooking; because our generation of women's mothers didn't teach them to" image that made the rounds on 9Gag and all the usual neckbeard locations around the Web.
It's hilarious because it almost seems like they're treating having a basic life skill like it's something to be ashamed of, or makes you a "beta cuck mangina" or whatever these fools believe.
I've always said if you spot anyone sharing it non-ironically or without a, "Hey, check out this bullshit some jackass MRA created ..." caption on it, it's the fastest way to spot a manbaby who can't care for himself who's looking for a replacement for his mommy.
