Genesis writers knew nothing of evolution because it didn't happen. Dinosaurs existed, but it was before man's time and not necessary to know about in God's economy. We are inquisitive enough to have discovered the extinct creation, which has served us well in our search for knowledge, and the development of our scientific bent.
The bible cannot be trumped. All science does is verify it, and changes from minute to minute. God's Word remains fixed and true.

"Dinosaurs existed, but it was before man's time"
Funny, it doesn't say anything about 'before man's time' in the bible? Or is he talking about days 1 through 5?
But all land animals (including man) were created on day 6 (says the bible) so there was no 'before man' time for dinosaurs to have been created, grown fruitful and multiplied, then become extinct in.
Unless the bible were somehow wrong... nah!
What's more, according to Genesis 2:19, God formed "every beast of the field" as a help meet for Adam and brought them to Adam for naming. Only three things are certain in life: death, taxes, and fundies who haven't read their own holy book.
Tradition holds that Moses wrote Genesis.
You know, Moses? The same dude that needed 40 years for a ten-day journey?
BTW, Christ Himself saw fit to correct Genesis. Wake up and read the better scripture.
"The bible cannot be trumped. All science does is verify it..."
Science disagrees with the Bible on whales being fish, insects only having four legs, Pi equalling 3, and goat fur patterns being affected by looking at striped sticks.
There's more, but I thought we'd start off easy.
Genesis writers knew nothing of evolution because they had not done the research yet and it did not fit into their theological message. Dinosaurs existed, but it was before humans' time so they just did not know or suspect that such things existed or happened. Ice ages on the other hand... We are inquisitive enough to have discovered the ancient worlds full of creatures that are now extinct. This has served us well in our search for knowledge, and the development of our scientific bent.
The Bible has been trumped. Science invalidates it. The stale and unchanging religious text cannot compete with up to the minute research. God's Word remains fixed and obsolete.
If God made man on the 6th day, are you saying dinosaurs went extinct on day 5?
What the heck's a "Folating Axe," an axe whose handle is sproutiong leaves?
Argh, here again the paradox of science according to fundies. Science is bullshit and it changes all the time anyway, as opposed to God's Word which is static and always true, but ALSO, science often verifies God's Word.
Which is it? If science is such an unreliable source, then why do you try to "back up your point" by saying it occasionally agrees with the Bible?
I think it's because they know that people DO have some belief in the authority of science and the value of scientific knowledge, and they'll use that to their advantage when they can. And when it DOESN'T work, as it usually doesn't, they can just say, "Well, hey, science is all bullshit anyway, you can't believe those scientists."
The username shown for this quote is a typo.
The user's name on the post is FloatingAxe , not FolatingAxe .
Has this person, FartingOx, ever read the Bible? "Dinosaurs existed, but it was before man's time"?? WTF?? Everything was supposedly done in seven days lady! Did God make them on the second day and kill them all off on the fifth day? How totally idiotic!!!
If you don't bother to learn about evolution, don't bother arguing against it. I'm sure you'd be insulted, too, if we argued the Bible without knowing the first thing about it.
"tradition holds that moses wrote the book of genesis"
actually, scholars now believe genesis to have been written by four different men, with four writing styles.
Confused?
