Because you do not know the reason something exists does not deny the fact it does exist.
Unicorns are mythology because we have never seen them but the fact is that the knowledge of them, are a reason to believe they once existed even though we cannot prove it. Why you want to use the term mythology when it is a fact Christ existed I am unaware.

Are you becoming aware of a problem in your so-called reasoning?
A man named Jesus may or may not have existed. We don't have enough hard evidence other than some chapters in a book. There's no writings by the man himself, no outside recordings of his life or deeds other than the bible which stories aren't even consistent to begin with. Pictures of a whitey mc white bread man with a beard are not accurate portrayals of what a man from that region of the earth would've looked like. So his image is even a fairy tale.

The Roman historian Tacitus, known for being one of the most exhaustive primary sources on the Roman Empire, briefly mentions a Jesus of Nazareth who led a Jewish religious sect and was crucified for opposing Roman rule in Israel. No indication the guy performed a single miracle, though.

Consequently, to get rid of the report, Nero fastened the guilt and inflicted the most exquisite tortures on a class hated for their abominations, called Christians by the populace. Christus, from whom the name had its origin, suffered the extreme penalty during the reign of Tiberius at the hands of one of our procurators, Pontius Pilatus , and a most mischievous superstition, thus checked for the moment, again broke out not only in Judea, the first source of the evil, but even in Rome, where all things hideous and shameful from every part of the world find their centre and become popular.
Except Tacitus was writing nearly 100 years after the time of Jesus, doesn't mention his name, and give Pilate's rank differently from that recorded on the Pilate stone. One would have to question what his source was, and whether he was recording an actual person, or simply what some people reported to believe. While intriguing, it's hardly a final answer to the question.

I have knowledge of Star Wars, therefore Star Wars once happened.
Yes, but it 'was' a long time ago and in a galaxy far, far, away...
By this logic, then, it is a fact that every god ever worshipped exists. Every Hindu, Norse, Shinto, Aztec, Greek, Egyptian, Australian Aboriginal and so on.
