The vote was very close, and there are still absentee ballots. Organizations are fighting hard to get this re-opened, and if we're lucky, it will be shot down along with the rest of the disgusting bigotry we've had in this country.
thats right folks, every one of those 'yes' votes for Prop 8 was literally done by God. Seems God has been very busy, but only in California and only against teh gaiyz yet you want to sing his praises? perhaps you should hold out until HE does something more miraculous or at least mildly impressive, such as striking you down where you stand.
Once it gets ruled that gay marriage is constitutionally protected by the US constitution, as these things seem to be inevitable regardless how hard people resist progress, California will have to yield. The issue is only time.

Yes, but there is already a lawsuit in progress to block it due to the fact that it's too big of a change to the constitution to be voted in by popular vote. If that argument succeeds, prop 8 is toast.
Failing that, it could still be seen as unconstitutional by the US Constitution.

Don't be too harsh on god, I mean, its obviously at the limits of his power to prevent gay people from getting married, how do you expect him to do this as well as saving starving children, preventing Obama from becoming president, converting secular countries etc.

I don't get why people are already taking action on a bill whose votes haven't been completely tallied yet. There are still like 3 million absentee votes uncounted, guys. The thing only passed by around 400,000.
Apparently we took on the "CREATOR of the Universe" and lost by less then half a million votes. This is down significantly from the ass-kicking we received on Prop 22. Further more, the battle isn't over. Multiple lawsuits, like this one: http://aclu.org/lgbt/relationships/37706prs20081105.html , have been filled to resolve the new conflict between the CA Constitution's equality and non-discrimination clauses and this new clause. So, when Prop 8 is overturned, does that mean that we get to take your god's title?

A Constitution that can be amended by simple majority vote?
I wonder why didn't the Californians use a constitutional amendment back in 2000? Why bother with regular initiatives when an amendment is just as easy to pass?
