Given the many diseases associated with homosexuality, the Bible prohibition against homosexuality is quite arguably one of the many examples where the Bible exhibited knowledge that was ahead of its time.

Of course, the vast majority of the diseases "associated" with homosexuality are equally associated with heterosexuality, but we here at Conservapedia won't let that get in the way of our sanctimonious bloviation.
Yeah, except that EVERY SINGLE ONE of the diseases "associated with homosexuality" can also be spread by heterosexual intercourse.
If the Bible had banned homosexuality in order to prevent STD's, then why didn't it ban non-virgin males from marrying like it did non-virgin females? Or do you really believe that you can get herpes from using a public toilet?
Syphilis, Gonorrhea, Chlamydia, AIDS etc etc are spread by sexual contact, by either gender, either gender preference.
Lies like this is what keeps people getting pregnant and infected with diseases.
What about all of the diseases associated with shellfish and pork? In those cases, the Bible correctly argued that, at the time, proper preparation means didn't exist.
Too bad we have more modern food preparation processes....
The only disease that was ever associated with homosexuals was HIV/AIDS, and that was back in the early 80s. Nowadays, it's straight women who are at the highest risk for contraction in most western countries. World-wide, young Africans -- straight or gay -- are the group with the highest risk.
Gays are at an elevated risk for depression, suicide and drug abuse, but that's only because they're treated like absolute shit by people like you. You see the same levels of risk in any group of people that is being mistreated. If Christians were being harassed, beaten, raped, etc. they would also have higher incidence of mental illness. It's a matter of correlation, not cause.
Incidentally, homosexuals are not the highest at-risk group for any mental illness or STD.
Only if you don't practice safe sex.
Even then, those diseases can be contracted by heterosexuals, too.

Yeah, just like the bit about the whole Earth being flat. Such a credible book it is.
Of course, why not?
Oh, wait, right, becase this is bullshit of the purest kind...
"quite arguably..."
You got that right.
Name one disease exclusive to homosexuality that heteros can't pass among themselves as well...
Yeah, I thought not. Mendacipedia strikes again!
is there a babble prohibition against life? after all, it has many diseases associated with it.
you stupid fucking fundie cunt. get a fucking clue.
This sounds farmiliar...
In any case, NO, you're wrong. There are no diseases associated with homosexuality - none that can be found in heterosexuals. Once again, Conservapedia, you lie.
And, for the record, only an idiot would talk about homosexuality in an article on atheism.
"Given the many diseases associated with wearing mixed fiber fabrics , the Bible prohibition against homosexuality is quite arguably one of the many examples where the Bible exhibited knowledge that was ahead of its time."
Sounds a little stupider when you choose one of the many OTHER prohibitions from the bible, doesn't it?
So all atheists are homosexuals? My husbands dream has come true!
@ Evilutionist
There are diseases associated with mixed fabrics. As someone with sensitive skin and a propensity to yeast infections I can tell you for a fact that 100% cotton is the only way to go.
The Bible still fails to work against diseases of the mind.
Since mandkind has clearly entered the age of the mind, where thought and idea manifest and change the physical reality more than ever, it would be nice to get rid of the insanity of religion altogether.
Man, are they holding us back.
Confused?
So were we! You can find all of this, and more, on Fundies Say the Darndest Things!
