Letter from a pastor in Richmond,Va. who is accused of sexually assaulting an 11 year old girl and her 13 year old sister in Texas.

Dear Friend,

It is with a heavy heart that I send you this letter. Those of you who know me, know how difficult it is for me to ask for any type of help for myself. God has allowed me to be a giver my entire Christian life. Being the one asking for help is the hardest thing for me to do, but I know that I must call on my friends for such a time as this.

As you know, I have been going through the most difficult time in my life. With my trial approaching, and the mental burden of possibly not being there for my family, I could definitely use your prayers now more than ever. I know you pray for me and my family already, and we thank you for your continued love, support, and friendship.

I was indicted September 20. Although I do not have a set court date yet, my trial could be just around the corner. The very next day after being indicted, I learned I no longer have a sponsor for my legal team. Someone had previously committed to supporting this endeavor from start to finish, but they have backed out for personal reasons, leaving me on my own to come up with the money. Unfortunately, as of December 10th, me and my family have lost our home and have no income. While I deal with these legal issues, I will not be able to find employment and Sam will have to provide for our family all on her own. I know that God will provide for my family’s daily needs, just as He always has. When it comes to my defense, I need your help.

I’ve been told by my attorney it will take approximately $100,000 to ensure the defense team, along with all travel accommodations to and from Texas. I am humbly asking that you prayerfully consider what God would have you contribute. No amount is too large or too small; every little bit helps.

Your money will go into an account created specifically for my defense team and travel expenses. There is an attorney and two trustees over the account to ensure the money is used and designated accordingly.
