Your assessment about the lack of respect for God is something that I have been noticing for quite some time. It happens when people don't see the full character of God. They like to talk about His love and compassion, but they refuse to see His wrath, jealousy, and judgments. If we truly KNOW God, fully, we cannot help but fall on our faces before Him. We would never dream of adding any pagan texts to His Word. May God have mercy on us all!

I really want someone to tell her that a lot of Christian holidays were originally pagan holidays that Christians just kind of took over.

As shown in your own precious Bible, even your 'God' proves he himself is inferior . Certainly to his own 'creation'.
Respect is not a right, but is a privilege that has to be earned . And it's way overdue for him to start doing so. In his case, he must worship us , and be our slave in perpetuity. There's a whole fuckload of people - his 'Chosen' - who would like a word with him, re. that 'Covenant', WWII, and the little matter of 'Judgement'...!
Wrath, jealousy, and judgments mean respect? You are using "respect" as used by violent criminal street gangs, where "respect" really means "fear". Taking like that about your god is ...well...disrespectful, if you're a believer.
