This isn't Germany, businesses actually have freedom in the American South. I hope VW is just suffering from Stockholm syndrome, because the last thing we need is a feckless business. I'm not really sure why union members are even allowed to have rights to life, liberty, and property, considering that they are eager to violently deny those very rights to their pragmatic betters.

And yet these people wonder why no one wants to listen to them anymore or to vote for their candidates.
I say that as a former FReeper who has come, over the years, to realize what a foolish and selfish schmuck he had been.
where does this freeper get the time to post on the internet, or the money for a computer to do it with? back to the sweatshop with him, and halve his wages while we're at it; he's obviously living far too well for a peon! sunday's half over, his church break is done --- don't let him off the assembly line until monday evening.
Strange how it is that when the employer, as in VW's case, actually wants a union, the interests of capitalism and the job creator are suddenly of no importance. VW is hardly a "feckless business" with plants in 27 countries, including in PA and TN. Union members in the US are US citizens with the same rights to life, liberty and property. It's obvious you hate the right of businesses to manage their own affairs as they see fit, capitalism, secure jobs for Southerners, and the USA.

Imagine that, a right-wing nutjob who doesn't understand the U.S. Constitution.
Last year, long before this unionizing story came out, business magazines were reporting that VW was unable to find qualified workers in TN, and was having to recruit out of state.
You know, one of the reasons the Labour Market in the US is so utterly shitty is the fact that so much of US society has fought Unions for it's workers... to the point that some companies have hired Union Busters to make sure no union can survive.
Those Union Busters? They violently denied people the right to Life, Liberty and Property all the time.
Of course, employees have a legal right to join a union... god forbid people exercising their legal rights, right?
Last time I checked German businesses actually have freedom too.
Unions are the very epitome of freedoms for workers, asshole! In order to have an equal and fair negotiation between companies and workers, workers need to organize or they are fucked. Unions are the ones who gave us (at least in my country) eight hours' working days, two days' weekend, four to six weeks' vacations, living pensions, sick leave, several months' paternity leave, etc, etc, etc, etc, etc, etc, etc, etc, etc, etc, etc...
Edit. Noticed how I just mentioned paternity leave above? How many months maternity leave do Americans have? For each child born in Sweden (by Swedish citizens), there are 16 months of paid parental leave, that the parents can divide up however they want, except two months each, to be used before the kid is 8 years old.
Yup, ya gots teh freedum to pay peoples a starvation wage n teh freedum ta rape teh landn pollute teh water n air, and teh freedum frum teh oppreshun of the taxes. Jus' look it teh model Mississippi be.
VW like many German companies WANT a good labor relations system in their businesses, it's PROVEN to be more productive. PROVEN, in case your haven't noticed Germanys enviable economy and standard of life.
Republicans have created smear campaigns against unions and convinced, without evidence and with lies, many people that unions hurt business. So VW may pull out and avoid the Red State politics that INTERFERE WITH AND ARE BAD FOR BUSINESS.
I like how he starts with
This isn't Germany, businesses actually have freedom in the American South.
just to try and deny this freedom to VW.
Psst, OS, try not to faint, but VW has even union representatives on their board of directors
Confused?
