Collectivism based on a patriarchal family lineage is a society based around the father. Where individualism means everyone is taken into account, and prized, and respected, your 'ideal society' does so only for the head of the household, i.e. you. You call individualism selfishness, but patriarchal collectivism is far greater selfishness on the part of the fathers, on your part.
Where individualism has everyone take care of themselves, patriarchal collectivism has male heads of household demand everyone else take care of them.
That makes you a selfish prick.
That is a flaw of individualism, but the alternative you gave just enables one person ("the patriarch") to be selfish, and it's worse because that behavior isn't checked by other people allowed to be just as selfish.
Collectivism based on what's best for humanity as a whole is better than either of those options.
I agree that too much individualism breeds selfishness, as we can see from so many people complaining about their tax dollars going to help the needy and refusal to consider universal health care because they're afraid others might get something for free.
But collectivism is not the way to go, either. You don't remedy the faults in one ideology by going to the extreme opposite. And your idea of passing wealth down to the first born son doesn't seem ideal for your other children.

Nah! Matriarchal/Matrilineal makes more sense. She bears the kids and parentage isn't in doubt.
Okay; It's still lop-sided but from a biological standpoint it's more logical.
Frankly; Inheritance should go to all offspring and both Mom and Pop should be able to pass down stuff.
Also; What everyone else, here, said about Individualism vs. Collectivism and the fact that selfishness is stupid.
