Responding to a comment made by another group member: "The kids had a carnival for a fund raiser at their school. A dad was taking a picture. A muslim came over (one of the peaceful moderate ones) and grabbed his camera and stomped it on the ground. Why -- because he said his wife was in the picture. Then they got a letter from the school that if you take pictures of your kids, you have to go to a designated area...and get permission if it is any other kids in the picture."
Wow, this is ridiculous. What town does your daughter lives in?
I bet if you moved out of California, eventually all of your children would move too.
You may have to do this to GET your children away from this Muslim influence, liberal influence, Governor Brown influence, Maxine Water influence, Nancy Pelosi influence, homosexual influences, gang influences, etc....
Same with me.

Pictures or it di... Oh, yeah. Busted camera. Never mind.
Photos of the kid
better take 'em somewhere else
Muslim in frame
It's fair if there are people who do not want their pictures taken. But it should be up to them to be aware, and just turn their backs or move out of camera range. In other words, if being in a photo is YOUR problem, then only YOU should be inconvenienced by it.
While stomping on the camera is a little over the top, I know that at my grandson's day care center if they send you a picture with another child in it you can't download it. If it's only your child then it's OK.
I suspect there's a lot more to this story than we're getting here.
Given the increased awareness of child predators and unwanted pictures on the web, I can understand a reminder or rule about not taking pictures of other kids. However, if the breaking of the camera actually happened, the police should have been called as it was a misdemeanor. With the ease of deleting digital photos, destruction of the camera would be unwarranted, especially since it likely wouldn't destroy the memory card. I've also never heard of moderate Muslims objecting to having pictures taken of their wives in a public venue.
Um...I don't believe this shit for one thing; and, for another, I wouldn't want some random guy snapping pictures of me or of minor kin.
But the straw-Muslim was wrong to stomp the camera into dust. He should have shoved it up the snap-happy guy's ass.
Take pictures only of you and yours, if it can be helped. Privacy is practically disintegrating as it is.
Not. Every. Fucking. Thing. Needs. To. Be. Fucking. Filmed!
So what does the guy's Muslim faith has to do anything with this? Like literally anything?! I've seen assholes like this too, and believe me they weren't Muslim, because I don't know any Muslim people offline.
Also, I love dlo_3us2001's reaction to this.

The most rational and logical reaction to being slighted by a Muslim is to immediately hop town and blame it on the gays. /sarcasm
When I take pictures in public, I try not to take photos of people I don't know in them. I even go one step further that if I go out and photograph somewhere in public and post pics later, I avoid posting photos of others I don't know.
As for the incident...
...pics or it didn't happen...
There are legal precedents that you don't need people's permission if they're incidentally in the shot of a photo in a public space. (If they're the subject , that may be another matter...) Even if there weren't, destruction of property is in no way a legitimate way to lodge such a demand.
I mean, come on, people. Small-claims court exists for a reason.

Strange how that TV camera remained un stomped by the father or mother of their daughter - caught in the same shot - eh...?!
Move to Britain. [/mega-paradox]

First, we don't know what really happened, if anything at all. Perhaps some overly intrusive adult was being a total jerk and taking lots of univited pictures and someone objected. Nothing new. I do lots of photography for a local baseball/softball club, including pictures of the the spectators, and some people don't want their picture taken. Fine. And I **always** ask if little children are involved, especially because the pics will end up on flickr.
Secondly, pictures of children are, in fact, a concern these days. The internet has let the sicko scene explode. If a school is being a little cautious, then why not?
