It seems to me that no book should be "cancelled," whatever it is, however abject. We're not obliged to buy them. As for the living, like Roman Polanski, who behaved badly, it's up to the courts to decide. He's also an immense filmmaker. I don't see why we wouldn't watch his films. Separating the man from the work is a basic principle. In the philosophical field, the logician Gottlob Frege was anti-Semitic. But I don't see the connection with his theory of truth.
