I've read some pretty fucked up things in the past, but this takes the cake. Are these people seriously comparing transgender rights and supporting child molestors?

Yes yes they are, and I'm more than a bit confused and floored. This level of stupid is worthy of the worst of the fundies.
The pedophile apologist needs a smack upside the head and a sharp education in the cost of molestiation. It's incredibly fucked up to tell a victim of such a horrific act that their experience and opinion is invalid and doesn't count. Why? Because you have a pet cause that makes you feel special.

I'm going to say 'yes' it is worse by a large measure. We prognosticate against the fundies because they tend to share very similar views in a lot of cases. While there is quite a bit of variation, there is enough common ground between various groups to cast a fairly wide net. We can pull out various sources of evidence to prove our point, and the predictions tend to be fairly spot on. The predictions also tend to be against some very vile and offensive indivduals who preach hate and bigotry...
Dipshit here...is a whole different animal. He and his friends in the comments were casting a incredibly wide and flimsy net against a immensely diverse group of people, and then lumping it in with a valid and important social cause. He provides no proof, and more or less shits on both transgender rights and the concept of informed consent.
It's essentially the "They're all this way because I say so and I know all" argument. Dipshit here has made a absolute and declarative statement that all SJWs support pedophilia which is far from true.
On top of this? His analogy is faulty as hell. Transgender rights are about winning equal rights for a group of people who are looked down and oppressed pretty harshly even in First World countries. Except for a few radicals, it's a benevolent movement for equality.
It really doesn't equate to support for child molestation in any shape form or fashion. It's the non religious fundie equivalent that supporting homosexuality equals supporting pedophilia. Unless he's talking about jumping on a bandwagon, and even then my points still apply. Two radically different things here, with very little in common.

I get where you're coming from, and I agree with you on most things, but...
It's not really understandable, not with access to Google, various news sites, and the pletheora of information open today. This is kind of ignorance is easily solvable with an hours worth of decent research.
