[closed thread title: Does your work affect you position on evolution?]
Yes, I work as a oil distributor. Because of this I have had to take three courses in lubrication, and filtration. Learning the history of how some base stocks of oils came to be. And why. Plus that there are ways to make petroleum oil, in less than a day. Made me realize that the millions of years of decay for dinos, and biomass to make crude oil. Does not take millions of years. Which made me search for evidence as to how science came to this conclusion.
What I found is that this conclusion is based on an assumption and not fact. And there is no evidence that the break down of such materials takes that long. But what I did find was that other people took and applied the same conditions, found in the ground, to simuliar materials (turkey, chicken parts. And sewage) and made oil in less than a day.
I found that the only reason that science made the claim of millions of years is because they say dinos lived that far back. And they knew that a lot of the material that oil was made from, came from them. So without testing the assumption, it was accepted and taught as fact. Fact with no scientific testing or method or evidence.
This is one of the many things that set me on a course of doubting evolution, and accepting creation.

Because you and you alone have been able to "disprove" evolution with you "facts" and "tests", which I'm sure you haven't actually done yourself, and the only reason that it hasn't been official is because you, for some reason, haven't spoken up.
So, you haven´t made any experiment or checked, but just because you say so we must believe it?, nuts.
Somehow, I don't think that we have energy-positive synthetic fossil fuels yet. If we did, do you really think that we would be spending all this time and money to pump it out of the middle east?
Also, we can't have Synthetic fossil fuels yet because we don't have plasma steel armor yet (bonus points to anyone who gets the reference)
How frightening. Someone who works in the oil industry who believes that, under normal, natural conditions, oil forms in less than a day.
Um...earth to fuckwit! If oil formed in less than a day, we would call it a renewable resource like trees or water. And it would be dirt-ass cheap as well.
For a slice of reality...they have in fact generated something approximating crude oil in about a day in the laboratory. By subjecting it to immense pressures and heat. The kind of pressure and heat you could find naturally, but only at the center of the bloody earth. And it took about a thousand times the energy contained in that "new" oil to create it. All in all, not a sound strategy for producing energy.
By "oil distributer," you must mean the lotion boy at Sandals Resorts.
Err ... Alpha Centauri, right? Yes, nice game.
What I think about this entry, it is especially confusing because he puts together dinosaurs and oil. All oil comes from dinos and dinos alone? I think this oil distributor thinks that science thinks (well, kind of thinking) the vast amounts can only come from dinos because they were so big. All other animals were too small.
The games name has already been mentioned. Now I can't get the bonus nerd points...
I feel miserable. [/sarcasm]
But this guy is stupid. You can not gt oil by burying some chicken in your back yard. If that worked oil would be far cheaper and there wouldn't be (have been) this whole war business going on in most of the middle east where America and Europe are involved (Irak, Afghanistan, Kuwait).
If people could make oil, why would they bother drilling for it? Why build a pipeline in Alaska, or screw around in the Middle East, when all they have to do is bury their trash? If you want to pretend to work for an oil company, at least do some research first.
Great! I'm gonna drill for black gold in my local cemetery!
Oil distributer? So you work at a convenience store? Oh, I get it now. (no offence to anyone who does this for a living. I've done it myself and my best friend is currently working at one, but this guy mentions it like it makes him an expert on oil)
If he actually took 'classes' and still came up with this bizarre theory, it clearly shows he wasn't paying attention or that the 'classes' were bullshit.
BTW, where can I teach lubrication to some college co-eds? I eagerly await a response.
"Because of this I have had to take three courses in lubrication, and filtration."
And these courses told you all about radioactive dating and how to turn dinosaurs into oil.
IDEA!!! Why are there not dinosaurs? Because after they got off the ark, Noah used them to make oil.
Obviously, Ikester didn't do much research. The reactions that produce petroleum use the remains of microorganisms, not large animals.
Also, as Julian said, biodiesel is not crude petroleum.
Finally,
Show me one oil company that searches for oil reserves using a young earth, flood geology model.
quoted because it's such a good point.
You do know that there is a difference between crude oil (that black stuff) and food oil (the yellowish one), right? Just checking...
OK, you started doubting evolution, but what made you accept creation? It has no evidence whatsoever in favor of it, and tons upon tons of evidence against it. It's not even assumptions, it's just a bunch of myths and legends and fairy tales.
"turkey, chicken parts. And sewage) and made oil in less than a day."
Because these have oils, if you're so fuckin' smart you'd know that. Ancient vegetatation makes up most Oil fields and you can extract it from live plants, soybean, corn and others are produced directly for that in some markets. And Of course you can make workable oil in a day from animal waste, still a refining process asshole, why the fuck do you think we went after whales (some still do) for centuries?
This idiots in a screening process section of the plant. And he's new. And he has no clue what oil actually is.
Then why are these big oil corporation spend all this money on drills and pipelines and all the other stuff, if they could just manufacture the oil themselves?
And maybe you should have paid a little more attention to those courses, because oil isn’t the remnants of dinosaurs, but of plants.
Yes, I work as a oil distributor.
Let me guess, you man the till of a gas station?
"Because of this I have had to take three courses in lubrication, and filtration."
Three courses and you're an expert? After three courses you individually know more than the collective knowledge of all of the generations of geologists and scientists on earth?
What peer-reviewed papers have you published? When are you collecting your Nobel Prize for overthrowing all of established science?
"What I found is that this conclusion is based on an assumption and not fact."
Yes, your conclusion is based on assumption, not fact.
"So without testing the assumption, it was accepted as fact. Fact with no scientific testing or method or evidence. "
So without testing or method or evidence, you accept as fact that a supernatural sky-pixie poofed everything into existence from nothing.
Why is it you're accusing science of doing exactly what YOU are doing?
Confused?
