Liberals view Islam as the lost proletariat that will fight against the West. They view Muslims as the disenfranchised group of brown people that will fight against the United States. Despite the fact that they are the most conservative people on Earth (They hate gays, women and minorities) liberals will ally with them for the sake of anti-Americanism and anti-capitalism.
As an atheist and a conservative, I'm sick of hearing excuses by liberals apologizing for far-wing conservative Islamic values. The culture of Islamic countries are anti-liberal.

I am a liberal and an American, and I believe in the right of people of any faith or none to observe the tenets of their faith (or lack thereof) so long as they don't break the law or try to force their beliefs on others. In that regard, the real transgressors in this country are Duck Fynasty Chrischuns.
Wrong, wrong and wrong. Liberals view Muslims as just another religious group among thousands who have the right to worship as they see fit, as long as they behave themselves.
Liberals see conservative Muslim fundamentalists as no better than conservative Christian fundamentalists, and maybe even a little worse.
This liberal has no more desire to see Islam become the state religion than he does Christianity. People should be allowed to hold their own beliefs and practice as they see fit (as long as it does not intrude on anyone else's rights). That is, after all, what the Founding Fathers intended when they wrote the Constitution.
Strange that it is modern day liberals who are working to conserve the Founding father's intentions with regards to religious freedom.
As a liberal, I have no more respect for Islam than I do Christianity. I would, personally, prefer that both, along with other religions, simply vanish.
"Despite the fact that they are the most conservative people on Earth (They hate gays, women and minorities)"
and then later on...
"As an atheist and a conservative"
So then, you hate gays, women, and minorities. You just outed yourself as a dick. Congrats on realizing this though, it is the first step to getting better.
This is just a poor attempt of demonization by pairing together of what you perceive as two negative stimuli.
So you hate some phantom menace version of "libruls" and want to lump them in with other things you don't like, even if it makes no fucking sense.
I've been stuck between two responses to this. I was leaning toward, "If I want to know what liberals think, I always ask a conservative," but I decided to go with...
Wut.
liberals will ally with them for the sake of anti-Americanism and anti-capitalism.
And all the while saying "Muh Hah hah hah hah... Die America! Die!" while gleefully rubbing their hands together, and twirling their cartoon villain mustaches, right?
Just curious, do you know what a liberal is by chance?
1) "Proletariat" is a class term; Islam is a religion. The two don't mix.
2) I doubt if you'll find all liberals - assuming the US definition - agree on anything about Islam or Muslim.
3) I live in a country of white Muslims.
4) Said Muslims are embarrassingly pro-American.
5) Said Muslims are fiercely pro-capitalist and have a top income tax rate of 10%.
6) Some liberals - in my experience, they're usually Trotskyists - are apologists for Islamists who, while they oppose Islamist beliefs on gay rights and women, are not prepared to let those objections stand in the way of their revolution. That leaves the vast majority of liberals - all liberals by in any political system other than the US - who are not apologists for such people.
You know, I've reached the point where I've given up responding to quotes.
Same shit, different wording, different day. Speaks volumes that they can't come up with an original argument.

What. I don't even...
Liberals understand that Muslims are a minority group in the US who are treated unfairly here and also in other countries. Just because they are in touch with reality and do not hate all Muslims does not mean they are fine with religious extremism, anti-Americanism, and anti-woman and anti-gay sentiments.
"As an atheist and a conservative, I'm sick of hearing excuses by liberals apologizing for far-wing conservative Islamic values."
Nice strawman. I'm a liberal and I think Islamic rule is a blight on the nations in its grip. Nobody should be bound to religious rule or law.
@lol
Where have you ever seen an atheist and/or liberal supporting stoning people? Certainly not on this site.
And given how openly contemptuous they can be about non-Christians, I would seriously doubt the word of anyone who claimed to be an atheist and a modern Republican, which is not quite the same but is generally what people mean when they say "conservative" in US political discourse.
"I'm sick of hearing excuses by liberals apologizing for far-wing conservative Islamic values. The culture of Islamic countries are anti-liberal. "
I am an atheist and a liberal and I never apologize for Islamic values. As a matter of fact I often criticize Islam and the oppression within Islamic countries. And there are many more like me. I think what you are referring to is liberals who feel that an individual shouldn't be judged, profiled, or targeted solely on their religious beliefs. That isn't apologizing for Islam, that is a basic tenet of our countries values.
they are the most conservative people on Earth (They hate gays, women and minorities)
Even more than Christian conservatives. If it weren't for that pesky difference of religion thing, conservatives here in the U.S. would be embracing Muslims for having the courage to do in their countries what conservatives want to do here.

Atheist conservative is not a contradiction. Think less Republican, more libertarian.
By the same token, I do not support the fundie Muslims.
In all fairness, you might be able to find a leftist or ten that would support Islamic wars against the US in the name of anti-imperialism, that is about as correct as this gets and that's if you do a mental substitution of 'some leftists' for 'liberal'.
I haven't seen even a significant minority of liberals carrying water for ultraconservative Muslim fundamentalists.
On the other hand, I HAVE seen MRAs, conservative Christians and various rightwing bigots publicly praising at least some aspects of Islamic culture as being preferable to a secular representative democracy--especially where it practices oppression and maltreatment for women, gays, and minority religions.
In the UK the far left have collaborated with Islamist extremists on a number of occasions, presumably believing that "the enemy of my enemy is my friend" and it's certainly true that many extreme left wingers are willing to overlook the anti-liberal practices going on in closed Muslim communities in the UK (forced marriages, etc).
It's very limited, however, and it the sole preserve of groups and individuals already marginalised by their existing extremism.
All you're seeing is the folly of a few extremists, in general the left-wing abhors all theocracies. It may pose a dilemma for SJW-types, but for anybody with a modicum of sanity there is no issue.
Confused?
