[A 17-year-old girl was thrown out of a prom for making chaperoning fathers look at her lustfully.]
I don't see how the men looking at her dressed like a sleize bag makes them the bad ones and poor little girl acting like a whore is so pure

Saw this story, with pictures, she wasn't remotely slutted up, the outfit was acceptable pretty much anywhere. The men couldn't stop gawking and making spectacles of themselves, cause that seems to be a real fucking issue amoungst "good Christian men".
Wouldn't have anything to do with that fundamentalist 'blame the girl for everything' motto, would it?
Blaming women & girls for being raped or sexually harassed is like blaming the guy who had his car stolen instead of the thief.
@Volcheka
*blecch* I hope some are G.I.R.Ls because a board full of Stepfords is super-depressing.
Ah this story. Here's the blog post from the girl who was kicked out. Very much a dick move on the organizers part.
That said, I half agree with the quote. It's unclear whether there was any creepy behavior from the men. And if all they were doing was looking, I fail to see the big deal. I know Christians have a bug up their ass about this stuff, but you can't thought police. You just can't.
@LAchlan
Any pics?

There you go. I really don't see the problem with that dress.
By the way, the prom was the "Richmond Homeschool Prom ", held at a Methodist church building. Homeschool Prom? Oh the fun.
If I had an underage teen daughter, I don't think I'd want the chaperones ogling her.
Their pervy behavior is totally on them.
What the fuck is the matter with you?
What happened to punishing the lustful?
Also, it's called sleaze, with an a, like a-holes.

"If thine eye offends thee, pluck it out"
I wish I knew who said that...
It shouldn't be to hard to find registered sex offenders who are less creepy than these so-called chaperones.... In fact, I suspect that the average registered sex offender would find this story disturbing.
@Qazamir McSmarty Britches:
I followed your link. WHY DID I FOLLOW THAT LINK!? MY EYES! BRAIN BLEACH, PLEASE!
Making them look at her lustfully? What did she do to make them? Hold a gun on them and say "check out my ass or I'll kill you, motherf***er!!"? If so, she deserved to be thrown out. We can't have 17 year olds going to proms strapped with a 9!
To be fair, it's at a church. Most churches would look askance at a short, tight-fitting dress. And I would not call that a prom dress; it's a cocktail-length sheathe.
I don't know what's worse, the church's reaction or her being homeschooled.
I'm sick to fucking death of hearing this bullshit.
Hey, Bonita? If I dropped an incredibly valuable gold doubloon while walking down the street and two people who saw it at the same time decided it was worth killing each other in order to possess it do you blame the two attempted thieves/murderers for their greed and bloodlust or the coin itself for just existing? Are you going to blame me for dropping the coin even though I am an injured party for my loss of property, hadn't noticed I dropped it, and would not have had control over the two who resorted to violence? How about if I kept that chunk of valuable metal in a safe out of view but somebody decided to take it anyway because they simply knew it was there? Are you just going to blame me for having it to take?
I'd say to stop treating women like objects but in all honesty inanimate objects get more respect and legal protection than women in most societies, even in this day and age. Hell that's true of most people who fall victim to crimes.
What the actual fuck is wrong with the human race?
Because the guys are creepy. On if the dress was too short: I'm pretty sure most places, including churches, have a rule that the dress/skirt must least be to your longest finger's tip, right? I've seen pic. Guess what, Marageret White? HER DRESS WAS TO HER FUCKIN' FINGERTIPS.
The poor girl, though. The chaperones said themselves that her dress didn't violate dress code, but kicked her out anyway.

I checked that out, seen this kinda thing before, even the MSM TV shows have expressed concern over these events and The YoungTurks web program really condemned this practice and the mentality that birthed it.
These people have gotten this sick relationship so far right, so accepted within their bubble, they don't see (the mothers, aunts and siblings anyway) how wrong this familiarity and bridal comparison is.
Because they are looking at her with lust, which is a sin according to Jesús, and she's not. For people who pick and choose so much, this time you're silent over the verse that justifies tour bullshit
A prom especially a senior prom is for young people to meet potential mates in a controlled setting.
The adults supervising should not be thinking of the boys and girls as potential sex partners.
What the woman look like does not matter.
From what I've seen on the blog, she's blonde and her boyfriend is black. Probably didn't help.
(and I agree with the rest of the comments - she made a minor mistake, but the real perverts are those who look at her & reject their own weakness on the poor girl. When I stare at a woman - and should not, as I'm married - that's MY weakness, and my own job to manage my own frustration).
Well, I read the blog post and I didn't see an answer to the really important question.
What about the person really responsible for this? All the blame seems to be thrown at this girl. Since she is obviously unmarried, she is her father's property, and he should be the one blamed for allowing his chattel to be displayed in such a shocking manner. Then again, as her owner, if he is fine with his possessions being put on display, who are these people to say he is doing wrong? Where's our traditional family values?
Bonita can't get laid.
Ever.
Confused?
