“It is ridiculous to me that intelligent human beings”
I was enlisted in the Navy for a while. Intelligent beings do a LOT of stupid from time to time. What is your background that this is a difficult concept for you?

We, uh, we are apes. My mother was an ape. My wife is, my kids are apes. My granddaughter is an ape. She’s the CUTEST ape of all, but an ape. We are on the Planet of the Apes.

I do not believe you.
“Evolution is more a religion than a belief.”
You mean, more a belief than a science, don’t you? Please read the cue cards carefully.
“I think those who believe in it”
I don’t really believe in evolutionary theory. I accept it as the current mainstream view. And i also understand it does NOT require atheism.

But I AM an atheist. (Not because of evolution.)
There are theists, though, that do pray about their path… And end up supporting evolutionary theory.
“I could never believe in it unless God Himself told me it was so.”
Well, you probably think evolution requires atheism, so you’re never going to be challenged that way.
But here’s a thought. Ever heard the joke about the guy facing flooding, kept waving off help, saying ‘God will save me.’? He drowns and gets to Heaven. Sees God. “Hey!” he shouts. “What the Hell!? I trusted you to save me!”
And God said, “What, I sent help! Why, didn’t you see the cop? The Ranger? The National Guard?”
So, you’re waiting for God to tell you that evolution’s real? Is there a chance you’ll get to heaven and God will say, “You didn’t see the fossils? The DNA? Weren’t you in Mrs. Lawson’s class? How did you miss it?”
