(Context:Regarding gay couples in Israel)
While I believe everyone should be respected as a person, I also believe children need to have both a mother and father. Plus, a gay couple can do what they want in private. But shouldn't flaunt it, especially in the holy city

'Flaunt it' here meaning go out and act like any other couple.
Repeated studies, easily found online, show that kids with gay parents fair no differently than kids with straight parents. There is no difference, and children thus do not need both a mother and a father. What you believe here is factually incorrect.
"But shouldn't flaunt it, especially in the holy city"
You don't have to worry about it. Jews aren't allowed in Mecca.
You clearly don't believe in respecting people.
Are you going to force deadbeat dads (and moms) to take care of their children? How about children with a dead parent; are you going to assign them a new parent? Can the remaining parent have a say in who's chosen? Orphaned children; will you force childless couples to care for one each?
A straight couple can also do what they want in private. Should they flaunt it in the holy city?
I also believe children need to have both a mother and father.
What if one of the parents dies?

If someone really thinks having sex in a public place is a good idea, I shudder to the think what else they may, as a parent, think is also a good idea. Of course, the public sex problem resolved either by the majority of people understanding the reaction to their public sexual activity, and the arrest of those who can't figure this out, it doesn't seem to be that great an issue.
As far as others, I can agree kids would do best with male and female perspectives in their rearing, but this does not necessarily have to all come from their parents. You know, it used to be common that kids would spend plenty of time around aunts and uncles, along with cousins, as well as trusted members of the community they live in. I don't get this insistence over the last few decades that only the parents are supposed to be some kind of influence on their children. The most important thing relating to their parents is that the parents actually bother to care for them, physically, mentally, and emotionally . . . not that one have a penis, and the other have a vagina. If that's your only requirement . . . I'm sorry to tell you, but there's quite a few highly abusive heterosexual couples throughout history.
@Sasha
Didn't say I ever saw it, just admitting that if a couple does have sex in public, I'd reasonably question their fitness as a parent. Given that it's obviously not a highly common occurrence among any couple, much less gay couples . . . yeah, exactly a non-issue. As in, the issue is obviously resolved. All of it just makes A bit of Light, Lot of Dumb's argument sound even sillier.
Confused?
