It has absolutely nothing to do with Obama. It’s a lottery the ship holds. Depending on the command, everyone that’s married participate or everyone with a significant other participates. Winner gets to go down the brow first and be greeted then liberty goes down.
The addition of same-sex couples is REQUIRED. Because those couples are legal. So there’s no secular reason to discriminate against them that’ll stand up in court.
