Additionally I want to say, the heart is a muscle pumping blood through the body - that's it! no generated feelings and what not, just a pump! The heart in your body looks very different from the little cutsie cards you send and get for valentine's day (if you do valentine's day)

From a purely scientific point of view, the heart, like all tissue and muscles, formed around the third month of pregnancy. And the brain is the key, regardless of folk culture.

The heart starts beating sometime after, when the cells specialize, and the brain takes fucking forever to get going. Even when the baby is kicking, the brain's connections to the muscles are still forming, so it is not really aware or human for a while.
It is difficult to tell when feelings and love really develop since fetuses are nonsentient.

And it is wrong to kill a baby. Fetuses, however, are not babies.

2. The BRAIN controls feelings, not the heart.
3. Love is a feeling towards something. It cannot be generated by something other than emotions.
Ever notice that people say they are EXPECTING a baby, meaning the baby is not here yet, it might be coming sometime in the future?
