Mat 5:28 But I say unto you, That whosoever looketh on a woman to lust after her hath committed adultery with her already in his heart.
Jesus is plainly saying that if a man looks at a woman and lusts after her, he has committed adultery with her already. One of the definitions of 'with' is: So as to be touching or joined to. The clear point is that Jesus is saying they are both guilty of adultery. The reason for the man's guilt is obvious. The woman's guilt is not as clear. She has set a trap for him - she has enticed him.

Now, the sad thing is: the average, seemingly moral high school girl is more revealing in her attire than the harlot of Proverbs 7. Even more sad is the fact that these girls are causing men around them to commit adultery with them by the way they dress.

Men have no self control, therefore women must be punished. Makes perfect sense to me.
And pi=3, bats are birds, insects have 4 legs, rabbits chew thier cud, man was created both after and before the animals...
This guy is a rapist waiting to happen.
"It wasn't my fault, your honor! THat bitch just wouldn't stop being a sexy, sexy whore! O God, why must I be made to suffer?!"
Indeed it does, guvnah! Bloody good jollies, wot wot! Now to take the lift up to my flat on the 1st floor! Bloody hell, it's Margeret Thatcher!
(No I'm not british, I just like to pretend to be racist stereotypes in the name of assholery)
Every sin is equal to the sin of denying the holy ghost. (Jesus)
Denying the holy ghost can't be forgiven.(Jesus)
Everyone sins. (Paul, and maybe Jesus. Count original sin if catholic)
Everyone has committed an unforgivable sin, Christianity s a hoax and everyone goes to hell. Good day to you sir.
I'm no master of psychology, but if all you ever saw of a woman was her outline under a burka, wouldn’t that get you up as much as seeing her naked if that was what you are used to?
Take for example native tropical tribes where both man and women wear hardly anything (because it’s stinking hot, not because they are amoral), I don’t see the men walking about with raging hardons raping women because they can see their breasts.
L.
I wonder how this works insofar as a woman lusting after a man? Are Calvin Klein underwear models guilty for enticing me?
Oh, wait, that's right - I'm a woman, so desiring sex to begin with is completely unnatural and sinful for me. Heh.
What about those men who find "modest" women to be sexy? I dress conservatively not because I care about what people think of me, but because I live in a climate that will burn me within 15 minutes of walking out the door uncovered. Sunscreen is a help, but it's sticky, smelly and to be of any real use has to be reapplied every two hours. It's just easier to wear light, long sleeved tops and shirts and either long pants or skirts. I've had a suprising number of men tell me that they find that look very attractive. Which just goes to show, there's a goose for every gander, or something like that.
What do I do? Aside from the pants, my dress is probably as modest as even the most hardcore fundie would proscribe. Should I shroud myself in a burqa, or cease brushing my hair and teeth, or sew my clothes from burlap? Even if those actions deter most men, I guarantee there will be someone who finds my attempts to be repellant to the opposite sex attractive.
Gah. I hate this type of thinking, whatever religion it comes from. If certain men cannot control themselves in the presence of a "provocative" woman, then they need to investigate therapy, or if that fails, castration.
Dykitty, I wanted to suggest that!
I sometimes get the feeling that instead of the normal optic organs, Randy has testicles in his eye sockets... (I'm not sure that I want to know whether this situation is the result of his balls climbing up there by themselves and pushing his peepers out or of Randy having second thoughts after taking dykitty and hairband's advice to heart and trying to salvage what he could)
Jesus clearly says nothing of what you said. He says that He and only he has sinned in his heart. Second, if adultery has to do with married people, does it mean that if the girl is not married(only she, by the way), they´re committing adultery?. Bro. Randy, urgent alphabetisation program
Hm. Latent lust only works both ways if the woman knows and responds in kind, even if only vicariously.
Otherwise, the unfulfilled lust is quite capable of modifying the man's brain chemistry, which could get him in trouble further down the road.
Asking Br'er Randy Rabbit here not to worry about those high school girls is like asking Br'er Fox to go vegan. But still....
So if I have dirty thoughts about Bro. Randy, is he then guilty of having engaged in imaginary gay sex? Because, y'know, I think he might have to lock himself and a room and start repenting instead of being on the internet.
it's always the woman's fault. As told in the babble, the first thing Adam is reported to say is that "the woman tempted me".
And of course, the perfect rape excuse.
ARSEHOLE!
"Jesus is plainly saying that if a man looks at a woman and lusts after her, he has committed adultery with her already."
Guess what, Bro. Randy? The only other people who have spent this much time worrying about this are, by your logic, burning in hell already.

"more sad is the fact that these girls are causing men around them to commit adultery with them by the way they dress."
What's more sad is that the men are such lowlife, uncontrollable horndogs that they can't look at a girl without lusting after them.
But I'll bet Bro Randy knows about being a lusting horndog firsthand... hence putting part of the blame for his shortcomings on the women who "entice" him into impure thoughts.
I'm sorry, but one cannot be acquitted on the grounds of the victim being "dressed provocatively".
The accused is declared guilty, and shall be sentenced to 45 years in prison, without possibility of parole.
Case closed.
Clearly, you haven't read the passage, because he says that HE, and only HE commits adultery in his heart. After all, HE ALONE is responsible for the feelings. Think this, do you blame a victim of theft?. That's what the slippery slope is about.
So once you've committed "the sin of adultery" in your heart, what is to stop you from going through with it in reality? After all, if just the thought has damned you, then it is just as easy to ask for forgiveness for the deed as it is for the act. Granted, doing the deed may have real world consequences that simply thinking about it would not, but your concern is the spiritual world and not the physical world, isn't it Randy?
Confused?
