Actually the high crime rate has more to do with black involvement in football than the other way around.
Its the same as with Dominicans in MLB - their number one focus is on becoming a professional football player or baseball player - most whites just want to go to college and get a good job, only those that are so exceptional at football actually consider it as a career choice whereas blacks consider it their #1 goal regardless of how good they are at it because the alternative is a criminal lifestyle.
