The more a person reads about Leonardo da Vinci the more he sees the sinister dimensions. Leonardo's homosexual lifestyle would certainly tend to make him see male figures in an effeminate fashion. Homosexuality and feminism are always closely aligned and will be the exalted culture of the coming One World Order ruled by the Beast. Leonardo would have hated any expression of strong masculinity and authoritarian actions even as it is attacked with unembarrassed hatred today. The picture of Jesus Christ in this so-called masterpiece is itself effeminate and grotesque. The long hair on the Lord is totally unbiblical and an attack on His incredible masculine nature as the Son of man.

Uhh, no.
Androgyny was normal and somewhat regarded as beautiful at the time. The vast majority of paintings originting from the time consists of depictions and acts which in today's world would be considered homosexual and/or banned.
Plus, at the time, those with ripped bodies and/or size 0 bodies would've been the poor laborers in the renaissance. Depicting Christ as a muscular Arnold Schwarzeneggar (sp?) would've been an insult, implying he was a laborer, a person who did dirty, unskilled work.
Homosexuality and feminism are always closely aligned
Something tells me that this moron hasn't read one of Plato's works, in which he states that male homosexuality is the highest form of love that there is and uses some rather misogynistic undertones while he's at it.
Well, Jesus did hang out with 12 guys!
He taught us to "turn the other cheek".
Sounds a little light in the sandals to me, dude.
So, wait, Leonardo da Vinci is gay now?
Darn it, I'm confused....
Gay or not, Da Vinci was a genius, and the embodiment of the most literal sense of the term Renaissance Man. What will you be remembered for in 700 years, Joseph?
The blastphemy on this site just makes me want to puke. Jesus was not some limp-wristed sissy boy. The bible infers that Jesus was a "man's man," but not in that faggoty way.
Jesus was lean and trim, and had hands as big as basketball. Since he was from the middle east, he probably was good at soccer - known as "football" in Europe. Jesus was ripped and muscular since he was a laborer - and he probably could work all day and still come home and piss over a barn!!
In fact, Jesus was at least 8 feet tall, some have said 10, but the Bible clearly says he was a huge man. And lest ye question his manhood, he had a "trunk that moveth like a cedar, and the sinew of his stones was like a potato sack." That's directly from scripture.
Armand:
And yet he probably was ripped, as he was, essentially, a common laborer until he started preaching. A skilled one, being raised as a carpenter, but a laborer nonetheless.
As for hair -- likely curly and black. If he was a truly observant Jew, full beard and payes, possibly long all around. However, he was Galilean as well, and the Galileans had a somewhat different outlook on life than did the Judeans, being a rather more multicultural society. So who knows -- he could have been a clean-shaven Hellenistic Jew rather than a payes-and-yarmulke Temple Jew.
The important point here: apart from saying that Jesus' father Joseph was a carpenter, it really says nothing at all about his appearance, so getting hung up on it is fucking lame.
Actually, people, both Leonardo and Michaelangelo were gay (and FWIW they hated each other), but so what? They both rank among the greatest artists of all time, a fact which will easily withstand an attack by a moron from the cultural metropolis of Paw Creek. And you Mr. Chambers apparently don't even know your Bible all that well: Jesus was an observant Jew, and it says right there in Leviticus 19:27 "Ye shall not round the corners of your heads, neither shalt thou mar the corners of thy beard." Since nobody actually knows what Jesus looked like (aside from those who have seen him in a cheese sandwich), artists have all assumed that he never cut his hair or beard. Can you understand that with your simple little mind, or do we have to draw you a picture? Oh, wait a minute...
Yes, jesus had collar length hair, wore a three piece shirt and tie with crist white shirt, and spoke fluent King Jimmie the homo English... Jesus, get a fucking life dick wad
Too many assumptions from nowadays projected on a man from Palestine in the first century?. Just some DATA. Leonardo Da Vinci wasn't homosexual. He had several mistresses and even married one of them. Second, those pictures of Jesus were common at the time and Jesus, probably, had a longer hair than considered by today standards, care investigating?
Ahh, Joseph, its amazing how someone who lived way back then could be smarter than you who lives in the information age.

#363183: So Christ should look like a steroid fueled freak? Is that masculine enough for you?
You mean like this?

That's funny. I always had the idea Jesus was the Woody Allen type...without the angst, of course,...well, without most of it, anyway.
"The long hair on the Lord is totally unbiblical and an attack on His incredible masculine nature as the Son of man."
Am I the only one that just imagined Jesus with a buzz cut and then laughed about it?
Hey Faggot*:
I was walking through a graveyard outside Jerusalem the other night. It was the middle of Passover, so it was pretty quiet as the sun came up. Just as the sun was rising, I saw this flash, and suddenly a guy walked out of a tomb with holes in his hands, side, and feet and some major morning wood...
*Dan Savage's readers used to use that greeting. He retired it a long time ago though.
We need a "His incredible masculine nature" award for posts like this.
And yeah, the hair thing may seem petty, but to fundies it's really not. It doesn't matter if everyone else at the time had long hair - Jesus would have had short hair, because long hair on guys is and always has been sinful, and it's not like "styles" change with the "millennia" or anything.
"Leonardo's homosexual lifestyle would certainly tend to make him see male figures in an effeminate fashion... Leonardo would have hated any expression of strong masculinity"
If he was gay, wouldn't he have liked expressions of masculinity? Seeing as how that's the gender gay men are attracted to?
Also, with all you homophobic male fundies going around talking about Jesus' "incredible masculine nature", is it any wonder people start talking about you?
"The more a person reads about Leonardo Da Vinci the more he sees the sinister dimensions." Speak for yourself, sparky!
"Homosexuality and feminism are always closely aligned..." BULL-CRAP!!! There are straight feminists and non-feminist, sometimes even misogynistic, homosexuals! You LOSE, good DAY sir!
Confused?
So were we! You can find all of this, and more, on Fundies Say the Darndest Things!
