Now are you stating that there was no global flood??? Is there any part of the Bible that you DO believe??? Of course there was a global flood, and scientific evidence is proving this more and more all the time. You know those layers that were supposed to take millions of years each to form? Well, they realize now that that's not the case. If there was even 10 years in between, they would see evidence of insects and other small animals burrowed under each level. They would also see signs of erosion in between the layers. Guess what? They find NEITHER ONE. The only conclusion they can possibly come up with is a global flood. All the different types of minerals and everything else was caught up in this flood and slowly began to settle to the ground, the heaviest minerals first on through to the lightest. It's like mixing oil and water.

I am stating clearly that there was no global flood. The Bible Flood story is a sham, and a poor one at that.
"Is there any part of the Bible that you DO believe???"
There are several parts that I think are good. The Golden Rule is a good idea, though it appears in other traditions which predate Xianity. Some of Proverbs is good. There are some other parts I like as well.

No, that is not correct. Don't rely on the Creation Research people for clear, unbiased evidence.
"You know those layers that were supposed to take millions of years each to form? Well, they realize now that that's not the case."
Who realizes this? Certainly not the vast majority of trained geologists.

Says who? You?

Do not presume to tell me what conclusions I can and cannot draw from the evidence (or lack of evidence). The global flood story is patently ridiculous.

Riiiight. That's why Uranium is always found and only found in the deepest mines, always below lead and gold. And, gold is never found on the surface, like, say, in streams. When one looks down at the surface of the earth one only sees lithium and other light elements.[/sarcasm]

O RLY? (Where's that owl when you need him?)

Burrows , he says?
"They would also see signs of erosion in between the layers."
Like this , maybe?

My sed/strat prof didn't mention anything about this. Apparently my education has been wasted.

Here's a stratigraphic column of the grand canyon area. Note that there are instances of all types of sediments -- shale (mud, clay) and sand and even chemical sediments (i.e. the limestones) throughout the column.
Oh, this is painful. I really hate it when a couple of crackpots write inane distortions of reality, and then some fundie comes along and says, "SEE, SCIENTISTS HAVE PROVED THAT SCIENCE IS WRONG AND THE BIBLE IS RIGHT! WHY CAN'T YOU SEE THAT?!?" And he not only can't see the flaws in the assertions of his silly book, but cannot see the outlandish contradiction in his own assertion -- namely, that "science has proved" something, thus completely discrediting science. It's just heartbreaking -- not to mention mindbreaking.

These guys seemingly forget that the Noah's Flood story borrows heavily from a part of the Gilgamesh epic.
Also, don't insects decompose completely rather quickly, since they have no bones or other parts solid enough for decomposing organisms to leave behind?

Another thing that just dumbfounds me is that in this comment, he implies that he considers the alleged flood to be one of the more believable tales in the Bible!
The richest part about that is that we have so much real, physical evidence to disprove the alleged global flood -- not just to call it into question, not just to say that it is illogical, but solid evidence to show that it just was not so .
So he, like his fellow YECs, has the nerve to try to turn that on its head and just ignore what the evidence actually shows. It's infuriating.

Is that three questions? Then let me say, yes, yes and yes again.

What is this guy smoking? The statement that they've found neither one is just flat out wrong. They've found both interlayer erosion and fossils between the layers. The Grand Canyon even has an exhibit on the subject of interlayer erosion. Fundies, of course, claim these erosions took place rapidly (they don't deny they exist) but then again, fundies claim the speed of light must have changed, and other wacko theories designed to salvage their young-earth nosense.
Confused?
