That’s Frummy Religion in general. Also; Conversion based on fear is not a true conversion.
Sure; Scriptures have moments of Deity being scary but there’s a ton of stuff where Deity is all about love, charity and goodness. Emphasize Deity’s love, wisdom, support, refuge, answers to all questions, etc. Emphasize how Deity will give meaning, loves you no matter what and will help you (or at least guide you so you help yourself). Focus on hating evil deeds that actually harm others and not dopey stuff like what consenting people do sexually (but still promote sexual responsibility since stuff like diseases and ‘Oops!’ are a thing).
Make Hell for evil people and purgatorial in nature.
Everything else will fall into place.
Frums don’t care, though. The crux of it all it Power, Dominance, Antisocialism and Sexism. They prefer a Higher Power who’s an asshole bully tyrant like them. They see stuff like love and kindness as “weakness” and hate and chaos as “strong”.
Arguments about how Progressive countries tend to be peaceful, prosperous and have a high living standard won’t sway them…because they see that as a BAD THING. They THRIVE on a Crapsack World! THEY WANT A CRAPSACK WORLD!
