[On the end of apartheid]
And just look how well Africa has prospered since the turnover! Of course the U.S. is prospering almost as well with that turnover in the White House. :-(

Yeah, I know! John McCain and Mitt Romney fixed our nation's economy a ton. One of the things they did to help us was losing the presidential election to Obama.
But McCain didn't help by losing the 2000 primary to Bush, so it's a mixed bag for him.
Average of 5.5% GDP growth since 1994, middle class has nearly quadrupled in size, poverty has nearly been cut in half and as of 2011 is listed as a Newly Industrialized Country. Seems they've done fairly well since the end of Apartheid, even with the (falling) crime problem, recent unemployment spat and inequality. Apartheid ended with two decades of recession and poverty rates over 70%.
Just look at how the state of Kansas is "prospering" under a white, Republican president voted in TWICE by white, Republican voters. We're close to having a billion dollar shortfall due to his tax cuts, and his answer to his fuckup is to cut funding to education. If I weren't tied down I'd seriously consider moving to a blue state.
So Bush II drives this country into financial ruin, and Obama, after six years, finally has the economy buzzing again. Based on that, we should only vote for black men from now on.
When I was a kid in the 70's Africa was a heaving morass of death and misery compared to what it is now. The progress made is beyond anything I could have imagined back then (and it was an issue that I thought about quite a lot).
Progress is relative, not absolute. Africa today is Europe not so very long ago.
@Goomy pls:
Times like this make me wish y'all had voted in Greg Orman and Paul Davis.
Well, I did, but not enough of the brain dead hicks who live in my state did, apparently.
Confused?
