I think Mickey The Rat is trying to "Pull a Pepe" with Rod Serling.
It won't work because Rod was famous and well-known while Pepe the Frog is an obscure character in an obscure weirdly psychedelic independent/underground-ish comic book.

Your feeling that the world's gone mad is mostly due to people like you not understanding how the world is changing and why, so when you try to put together a coherent picture it comes out looking like conspiracy theory anti-logic. I also had to add there that Ann Landers, while maybe not as liberal as Rod Serling, isn't the best choice for him to use either, seeing how she was in favor of legalizing prostitution and was pro-choice.
Faux News doesn't exist here in the UK. If it were, it would have to be one of two things:
1- Anchors/Reporters etc who just sit in silence. Dead Air 24/7/365.
OR:
2- Anchors/Reporters etc who have to be simultaneously right and left -wing; constantly contradicting themselves . Example: if Sarah FAILin appeared in a Faux News UK, when she said word one about her 'God', she would be legally forced to admit that her 'God' didn't exist.

I've been watching for years (going on 61) and DVR certain ones from space network now. Most of them are morality tales, would fit into their world view pretty well. Even the liberal bend is accepted 60s liberal ideology. You're right though, Serling was one of the few pushing for more relevant storylines, one of the few that actually did it, got him in trouble a few times.
I often think of the one where aliens isolate a community and pit them against each other by simply returning power to certain houses, watching for their established prejudices to work them up. It's not only the RW playbook of building fear but it's Russian tactics to make people distrust established society and undermine democracy/society/civility that have always been there but have gained far too many. I bet many who have liberal values watched this show and learned valuable lessons about prejudice and authority figures.
There's a Night Gallery episode where a Nazi war criminal enjoys visit to a art gallery and imagines that he could be in that serene painting of a man fishing on a still lake, it's a daily ritual for him. When they catch up to him one night, he breaks into the dark closed gallery and he begs to be in that painting, but they changed it that day to an image of Hell or something.
This guys pulling out some fucking Alex Jones fever with things like the idea this is actually happening and "I begin to see why we score last in so many fields"
