I don't trust any of the orgs who approved it.

I do, however, trust 50 years of actual use in human and animal populations where we can observe its safety and efficacy.

Completely different aethiologies (causes) affecting the same systems can lead to very similar symptoms while requiring completely different treatment. Thus, differential diagnoses are a very important concept in medicine.

Ivermectin is an antiparasiticum, that is, a poison that is deadly to invertebrates but (mostly) harmless to the vertebrate host - in this case, a neurotoxin that primarily targets a receptor not present in vertebrates. Covid-19, however, is a respiratory viral infection, caused by basically a very advanced piece of malicious genetic code without a metabolism of its own hijacking the patients’ cells, primarily in the pulmonary system to produce more of itself. Thus, the mechanism by which Ivermectin works is not applicable at all.

Also, what parasitic ailments with strikingly similar symptoms to a fairly normal grippal infection except for its high potential for fulminancy and long-term aftereffects are we talking about?
