Personally I couldn't care less. Had I been President, the entire ME would be a radioactive wasteland after what happened to the WTC. Mecca as a sheet of glass would be a fine repayment.
But these magnificent pictures and this date are reserved for an event you seem to have forgotten. I suggest you review what happened to the truly innocent here on this date.

Put away the onion...we know it's all self pitying bullshit.
Couple of thoughts:
- Repayment for what, exactly?
- Funnily enough, Saudi Arabia, despite having clear and undeniable links to 9/11 seems to be one of your "best friends forever", so I doubt Mecca would've been a good target.
- "The entire ME"? Including Turkey? You know, as in "NATO member and strategic alliance" Turkey?
- 1 million Iraqis < 3 thousand Americans? I see. What's the current exchange rate for an American life?
So a couple of guys from Saudi Arabia (not Iraq) run a couple of planes into buildings, and we should wipe a quarter of the planet out?
Maybe you should look at the issues that drove these men to their desperate act. What about the children who are living in that area? Are they not innocent? Read the writings of Osama Bin Ladan. At least he's an intelligent fundie, with some damn good arguments for why he's doing what he's doing. Not that I'm saying he's right, just that his arguments are a lot better than "OMG THEMS A DIFINT CULUR".

Also, nuke Mecca and your bases here will be surrounded in minutes, by a NATO army armed by your weapons. Considering the army is secular, but being run by people who consider it a sacred duty to defend the country, you wouldn't want to be in those bases. Your army has people who are in for the wages, we have people who are indoctrinated from childhood, armed by weapons and electronics roughly equal to yours.
Even the worst Turkish Ultranationalist doesn't advocate nuking anything. I've lived with them for a while. They just want to have their own rich country with full of Turks and minorities with less political rights. Though they are just as bad, if I had two choices, my choice would be them.
Well, if YOU wanna go in there and mine the oil once the infrastructure's shot to hell and the area's full of fallout, be my guest, but I don't think even the Shrub is that crazy, and he'll be out in a month anyway.
You do realize that that radioactive cloud of debris would have made several nations we are allies with completely unlivable and caused the world economy (especially ours) to collapse due to lack of fossil fuels coming in?
