That's exactly right. Misogynists like to excuse their treatment of women as little more than walking sex toys by claiming that men are little more than crude life support systems for sentient, free-floating penises that are constantly trying to insert themselves in the nearest available vagina. The existence of men who can treat women like actual people shoots down this idea, so the "white knight" myth was born out of ad hoc reasoning.
