I don't consider money laundering a crime at all. It's nothing but transferring money from A to B. That in and of itself does not harm anyone.
If someone robs a bank and proceeds to launder the funds, the crime was the bank robbery not the subsequent money transfer. Law enforcement should focus on stopping the robbery, not demanding everyone be inconvienced and innovation crushed because it makes their investigation easier.

Helping criminals enables them to commit further crimes because, after all, "no fences, no thieves."
For exemple, if your bank robber was unable to launder his loot, he would have less incentive to commit further bank robberies.

At the same time as noticing illegally obtained money is often only discovered because the possessor cannot account to authorities where the money came from,,,,he thinks it's still ok.

It's a real shame when you make 100s of thousand a year but can't buy that mansion because it'll clue the cops in, so you have to set up a small winery operation or something and severly cook the books, eh.

Money laundering is an additional theft of tax-payer money, asshole, and it's a way to convert stolen money to non-stolen money. Blame the robbers for the inconveniences, not the government who wants to stop the robberies.

Money laundering is a combination of evidence tampering and fencing of stolen property for the purpose of concealing a perpetrator's identity, of course it's fucking illegal.
You do know that the point of money laundering is so that the authorities can't find or recover the money, don't you? I really hope you get bilked out of your life's savings and the money gets transferred so many times that nobody ever finds it again. Then maybe you'll learn what the big deal over money laundering is.
