Define "better". If you've not been giving her the attention she needs, if you've not been a considerate and attentive lover, if you have concentrated on what you want and need while ignoring her needs, then yes, she might leave you.
On the other hand, "Chad" faces the same situation.

Never take feelings for granted.
You have to work to initiate a relationship. And work to keep it.
ANd sometimes, admit that it is better to end thing before it become ugly.

You`re trying to explain a social dynamic to a sociopath who does not tolerate others in his world. The subtle dance of our social interactions(and yes some of us have a deep sense of loyalty transcending anything but actual abuse) might as well be white noise to them.
