I'd like to discuss the issue mentioned in the title within the context of an /r/asianamerican moderator,Chinglishese, who is dating a white guy, and is therefore an active participant in Asian-American disempowerment and perpetuating the WM/AF stereotype. It's completely unacceptable for her to moderate a forum that is actively trying to change this stereotype.
The phenomenon of self-loathing Asian-American women who only date white men is a very important issue to the AA community that cannot be ignored. By dating a white man, chinglishese is capitulating and submitting to her oppressor. This is one of the most important issues facing the AA community, and there needs to be a movement of AA solidarity against white men who fetishize and exoticize Asian women.
